20 Best LEGO Star Wars Sets Ranked

20 Best LEGO Star Wars Sets Ranked

The popularity and importance of Star Wars in popular culture cannot be denied. With its multitude of iconic characters, vehicles, and locations, it’s easy to see why so many people love it!

So it makes complete sense that LEGO would want to get involved in such a world-changing and groundbreaking franchise, by producing sets based on the endless amounts of source material!

From large, intricate, and expansively shelf-busting LEGO sets to small and simple builds, we have considered them all, rating them in various areas, including their looks, playability, and Minifigures.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the most insane and incredible LEGO Star Wars sets out there!

20. Inquisitor Transport Scythe (75336)

LEGO Inquisitor Transport Scythe set
Set number:75336
Movie/Show:Obi-Wan Kenobi (S1) (2022)
Release year:2022
Pieces:924
Minifigures:4

We’re going to kick this list off with a relatively new spaceship: the Inquisitor Transport Scythe.

This ship made its first appearance in both live-action and LEGO form only this year. And for such a dark and angular vehicle, it’s actually pretty great.

The black aesthetic is imposing and impressive, and LEGO did a great job of making it look as intimidating as it is on screen.

The front ramp between the two ‘prongs’ lowers down to allow you to put Minifigures in there, and the top section also opens up to allow for play.

The two wings also swing down into their flying position. It adds a nice dynamic element to the build.

The main draw has to be the Minifigures, though. Not only do you get Ben Kenobi and The Third Sister (Reva) – both brand new figures, but there are also two incredibly rare Minifigures included.

Previously, you could only get hold of The Grand Inquisitor in the 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype set, and The Fifth Brother Inquisitor was only available in the 75157 Captain Rex’s AT-TE set.

They are essentially the same Minifigures, though both have been slightly retooled and feature slightly different paint applications. It’s a good opportunity to get hold of these hard-to-find characters.

Overall the Inquisitor Transport Scythe is a wonderful set not only for the spaceship itself but also for the 4 amazing Minifigures, too.

19. The Razor Crest

75292 The Razor Crest LEGO Star Wars set
75292 The Razor Crest LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75292
Movie/Show: The Mandalorian (season 1) (2019)
Release year: 2020
Number of pieces: 1023
RRP: $139.99 / £114.99
Number of Minifigures: 5 (Grogu (the child), Greef Karga, IG-11, Imperial Scout Trooper, The Mandalorian)

The popularity of The Mandalorian TV show can not be denied, and The Razor Crest was an obvious choice for one of the very first tie-in LEGO sets. Everyone loves spaceships!

There are plenty of play features on this set. As well as the cockpit being accessible, the sides and back of the vehicle also open up for you to recreate scenes.

It gives you some cool options and really does up the play value. Inside there are compartments for cargo, weapons racks, and plenty of places for you to store away both accessories and Minifigures.

Minifigures-wise, we get a small but decent spread. First up, we obviously get The Mandalorian, plus we get Greef Karga and IG-11, both of which are integral characters in season 1 of the show.

And then, of course, we get the small and adorable Grogu. He might only be tiny, but he looks great and is appropriately scaled for the other Minifigures.

Overall The Razor Crest is a great spaceship that can open up to offer amazing play options.

It’s compact and affordable and one that both kids AND adult fans of LEGO can enjoy. But it’s not the only version of The Razor Crest that we have on this list. Keep reading to find out more!

18. Armored Assault Tank (AAT)

75283 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) LEGO Star Wars set
75283 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75283
Movie/Show: The Clone Wars (season 7) (2020)
Release year: 2020
Number of pieces: 286
RRP: $39.99 / £34.99
Number of Minifigures: 4 (332nd Clone Trooper, Ahsoka Tano, and Kashyyyk Battle Droid x2)

The Clone Wars is almost universally loved amongst Star Wars fans, so the Armored Assault Tank (AAT) LEGO set was going to be a sure-fire winner.

The tank is a small and compact build that looks really neat. The navy blues and blue-y grays give it a cold and industrial look.

The top cannon rotates around completely, and the two side canons pivot up and down.

The front section of the AAT opens up, and you can place a battle droid in there. The top hatch that also opens up to accommodate a battle droid, too.

As Ahsoka is a fan favorite character, it’s always a treat to get her in Minifigure form. She comes with her two blue lightsabers that have extra pale translucent blades, making them look almost white.

The 332nd Clone Trooper with the painted helmet is also a very welcome addition, too.

The battle droids are just battle droids – a solid army-builder kind of Minifigure. But the added paint application to make them look like they’re serving on the jungle world of Kashyyyk is extra cool.

Overall Armored Assault Tank (AAT) is the perfect set if you’re into army-building. The Armored Assault Tank (AAT) is a unique yet brutish-looking vehicle, and it helps build out your Separatist forces.

17. Ewok Village

10236 Ewok Village LEGO Star Wars set
10236 Ewok Village LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 10236
Movie/Show: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Release year: 2013
Number of pieces: 1990
RRP: $249.99 / £199.99
Number of Minifigures: 17 (Chewbacca, Chief Chirpa, Logray, C-3PO, Stormtrooper x2, Endor Rebel Commando x2, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Scout Trooper x2, Ewok Warrior, Luke Skywalker, Teebo, R2-D2, and Wicket)

One of the most fun things about Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is how much of the film was set in the trees on the forest moon of Endor.

The Ewok Village LEGO set tries its best to recreate that fun magic, giving you plenty of opportunities to play out all kinds of scenes in the trees.

It’s quite a vertical yet sprawling build, with many of the main sections raised off the ground and held mid-way up the trees. Plenty of foliage and greenery gives it that woodsy, forest moon of Endor feel.

Using LEGO to make natural and organic things is notoriously difficult, but they really knocked it out of the park with this set!

It’s not all structured and fixed, though. There is one extra tree section that can be moved and positioned to wherever you want it.

The smaller modular section can be linked to the main build via plenty of cleverly designed rope bridges.

There are a good mix of Minifigures included in this set, ranging from the good guys to the bad guys. There’s even a small speeder bike that can be ridden into battle.

This set also includes the trap that was used to catch our heroes in the movie. A fabric net is linked via a pulley system that can hoist up and hold several Minifigures at once.

This might only seem like a little play feature, but it elevates the set and makes it that little bit extra fun.

The Ewok Village comes complete with 17 different Minifigures, 5 of which are unique to this set: Teebo, R2-D2 with a flat silver head, the Endor Rebel Commando with the beard and angry face, Princess Leia in her loose-haired Endor outfit, and Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) with an open mouth smile.

Overall we think the Ewok Village is a great LEGO playset that helps you set the scene. It’s actually a lot of fun and has plenty of exciting features that really do up the playability factor.

16. BD-1

75335 BD-1 LEGO Star Wars set
75335 BD-1 LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75335
Movie/Show: Jedi: Fallen Order (2019)
Release year: 2022
Number of pieces: 1062
RRP: $99.99 / £89.99
Number of Minifigures: 1 (BD-1)

The BD-1 LEGO build is the one build that really stands out on this list. Why? Because it’s not a set, it’s not a vehicle, it’s an actual life size replica of the little droid from the Jedi: Fallen Order game.

BD-1 has many points of articulation, The two antennae move up and down, the neck moves at the top and the bottom, and the legs move at the hip, knee, and ankle.

The joints are strong, so you can position BD-1 in whatever pose you require. It’s fantastic and the range of articulation is second to none.

Because it is made out of LEGO, there are plenty of studs and LEGO-y looking sections all across the build, but this just leans into the robotic look of BD-1, and it works really well.

Alongside the big main build you also get a Minifigure scale BD-1. It is tiny and has no articulation, but it’s cool to get the little Minifigure version of the giant main build.

Overall the LEGO BD-1 set has a lot of charm and great qualities. It’s a pleasure to build, and even more of a pleasure to have on display.

15. Death Star II

10143 Death Star II LEGO Star Wars set
10143 Death Star II LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 10143
Movie/Show: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Release year: 2005
Number of pieces: 3441
RRP: $269.99 / £249.99
Number of Minifigures: 0

The Death Star II is just an unfinished structure of a space station, and that doesn’t sound like the most exciting LEGO set ever. But in reality, it’s actually a stunningly large build that looks breathtaking!

As it is an older set, there are a lot more studs visible than you’d expect with a more modern set. Still, it surprisingly makes the Death Star II look even better, as if by accident!

One of the challenges that we imagined LEGO faced when putting this set together was how to make the right-hand side look unfinished.

If this set was made now, the stud-covered outer ‘shell’ would probably be made up of plates, and look less LEGO-y. Still, it has its charm as it is, and works really well.

The sturdy and hidden inner structure accounts for a lot of the pieces in this build, but also from the exposed, complex, half-built sections also help rack up the brick count.

One downside of this set is that there are no Minifigures included. It’s a real shame as there are several fantastic options that could have been very appropriate in this LEGO build.

For example, they could have thrown in Emperor Palpatine and two Royal Guards, or maybe Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. Though another set later in this list covers those Minifigures.

Still, there are definitely Minifigures associated with this build that would have fit nicely into the set and added a little extra flavor.

Overall though, for what it is, and for how long ago it was first made, the Death Star II LEGO set still holds up as an incredible feat of engineering!

14. Kylo Ren’s Shuttle

75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle LEGO Star Wars set
75256 Kylo Ren’s Shuttle LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75256
Movie/Show: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Release year: 2019
Number of pieces: 1005
RRP: $129.99 / £99.99
Number of Minifigures: 6 (First Order Stormtrooper, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, General Pryde, Knight of Ren (Ap’Lek), Knight of Ren (Ushar), and Sith Trooper)

Next up, we get to the Kylo Ren’s Shuttle LEGO set. This large, almost bat-like spaceship has a tall and looming presence that makes for a great LEGO build.

With a design reminiscent of the 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe, its black exterior is highlighted by the occasional translucent red brick that not only gives it a more interesting look, but also a sense of scale.

Depending on whether you want it in flying mode or landed mode, the wings can be pivoted in and out.

There are also firing mechanisms built into the base of the two wings near where it joins the main body of the craft. These spring-loaded cannons fire translucent green bolts.

Open up the main body of the spaceship, and it can fit up to 4 Minifigures.

When it comes to Minifigures, there are 4 that cannot be found in any other LEGO set: Supreme Leader Kylo Ren (with cape), General Pryde, Knight of Ren (Ap’Lek), and Knight of Ren (Ushar).

That makes this a must-have set for those who are Minifigure completionists.

For the full Knights of Ren lineup, you’ll also need to pick up the 75272 Sith TIE Fighter set, 75273 Poe Dameron’s X-wing Fighter set, and the 75284 Knights of Ren Transport Ship set.

Overall the Kylo Ren’s Shuttle LEGO set is a large, looming, imposing, and intimidating-looking build with some really great Minifigures.

13. MTT (Multi Troop Transport)

75058 Multi Troop Transport (MTT) LEGO Star Wars set
75058 Multi Troop Transport (MTT) LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75058
Movie/Show: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Release year: 2015
Number of pieces: 954
RRP: $89.99 / £89.99
Number of Minifigures: 12 (Battle Droid x7, Battle Droid Pilot, PK-4, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Naboo Security Guard)

The Multi Troop Transport (MTT) LEGO set might depict the large battle of Naboo, but it also reminds us of how bright and colorful the first (canonical) movie in the Star Wars Saga was.

Strangely, the set itself is not too bright, vibrant, or filled with color, yet it remains a fairly light and easy to look at LEGO build.

The MTT itself opens up and has plenty of little play features to keep you interested.

But without a doubt, the most fun and important part is the rack of battle droids that slides in and out of the front of the vehicle.

The battle droids can be bent and folded into their ‘storage’ position, and they all fit neatly within the body of the MTT.

As well as the battle droids, we also get some pretty great other Minifigures. Qui-Gon Jinn and a young Obi-Wan Kenobi are always nice to have as a pair.

The Naboo Security Guard also adds a nice splash of mustard yellow to the set. It would have been nice to get Jar Jar Binks or maybe some other Gungan Warrior to bolster the good guys and round out the set.

Still, that’s just a nitpick and not essential in what is otherwise a pretty fantastic set.

Overall the Multi Troop Transport (MTT) is another great troop building LEGO set that looks and feels like the older classic Star Wars LEGO sets.

12. Boba Fett’s Throne Room

75326 Boba Fett's Throne Room LEGO Star Wars set
75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75326
Movie/Show: The Mandalorian (season 2) (2020)
Release year: 2022
Number of pieces: 732
RRP: $99.99 / £89.99
Number of Minifigures: 7 (Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Bib Fortuna, Theelin Dancer, Quarren, Gamorrean Guard, and Weequay Guard)

We love a good play set, and the Boba Fett’s Throne Room LEGO set is the perfect example of the kind of thing that allows you to world-build and live out all kinds of scenes.

This particular scene was seen during a mid-credits scene at the very end of season 2 of The Mandalorian. The Book of Boba Fett built the scene out more, though.

The palace and throne room are made out of the sandy yellow bricks that we’ve become accustomed to in many Tatooine builds. It fits the look and feel of the sandy planet perfectly.

Depending on how you want the set to look, the three sections are on hinges, so they can be pivoted in and out. There is also a trap door on the floor that leads down to the (empty) rancor pit.

You can spin the set around and use alternate rooms, as well as unclip and rearrange the various segments. It makes for a very modular and fun LEGO build.

If we look at the Minifigures, there are some great inclusions in the menagerie. The updated Boba Fett looks fantastic, and Fennec Shand is a great addition too.

Bib Fortuna is a welcome Minifigure that has been overlooked in many sets for a long time. The other throne room patrons are also appropriately colorful yet seedy looking.

Overall Boba Fett’s Throne Room is an exciting and very customizable LEGO set that allows you to play in all eras of the Skywalker Saga, from the Prequels, through the Clone Wars, all the way to the Mandalorian era!

11. Ultimate Collector Series Republic Gunship

75309 Ultimate Collector Series Republic Gunship LEGO Star Wars set
75309 Ultimate Collector Series Republic Gunship LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75309
Movie/Show: Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Release year: 2021
Number of pieces: 3292
RRP: $399.99 / £349.99
Number of Minifigures: 2 (Mace Windu and Clone Trooper Commander)

With the Star Wars prequels becoming increasingly popular and loved, it makes sense that the Ultimate Collector Series Republic Gunship LEGO Star Wars set is equally adored!

The designers made sure to include each and every detail that makes these Republic Gunships so recognizable and well-loved by Star Wars fans.

From the detailed interiors to the orb-like cannons on the wings and body, it’s incredible how much detail they can get by using just LEGO.

We get to see translucent lime green bricks get an outing – it’s not a color that they wheel out all that often, so to see the color included in this set is kind of a special thing.

There is a firm and sturdy stand that allows you to display the Republic Gunship however and wherever you want. There is also a small informative plaque attached to the stand, too.

There are a lot of play features on this set too: the cockpits open up, as do the orb-like cannons on the wings and body. Additionally, there is easily room for over 10 Minifigures in the main hold.

This set only includes 2 LEGO Minifigures, only one of which is unique to this Republic Gunship: Mace Windu. What makes it unique is that he has tanned legs and an open mouth.

The other Minifigure is a clone trooper. It makes complete sense with the set, but it would have been cooler to get an entire squad to fully many the Republic Gunship.

Overall this set is wonderfully put together by someone that clearly has a great appreciation for the source material. It might have a high brick count, but when it’s complete it looks incredible!

10. AT-ST (All-Terrain Scout-Transport) Raider

75254 AT-ST Raider LEGO Star Wars set
75254 AT-ST Raider LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75254
Movie/Show: The Mandalorian (season 1) (2019)
Release year: 2019
Number of pieces: 540
RRP: $49.99 / £49.99
Number of Minifigures: 4 (The Mandalorian, Carasynthia ‘Cara’ Dune, and Klatooinian Raider x2)

First seen in The Mandalorian season 1 episode Sanctuary, the AT-ST Raider LEGO set is a fantastic blend of old and new, giving us an exciting twist on a classic vehicle.

This two legged beast has a head that swivels around, and a hatch that opens up, allowing you to place several Minifigures inside.

The head can be moved with a twisting knob that sits on the back of the neck. The legs do have articulation, though it is obviously most stable when both feet are flat on the ground.

This is essentially the 75153 AT-ST Walker but with a more wild and ‘jungle-like’ look to it.

It’s great, because not only do they nail the build as it is based on a previous AT-ST, but all LEGO has to do is change the paint applications, and hey presto – done!

We love the red and brown additions, and the dangling wires and tubes. LEGO did a great job of making it look more beat up and used than the earlier standard Imperial version.

Minifigure wise, we get The Mandalorian and two Klatooinian Raiders – all three of which are awesome.

But the hidden gem is the Cara Dune Minifigure. She was already fairly rare, but she’s become even rarer since her actress Gina Carano was fired from the show by Disney. If this set is high in price on the second-hand market, that’s why!

Overall the AT-ST Raider LEGO set is one that takes the original design and turns it on its head. Aesthetically, it looks exciting, wild, and surprisingly imposing, and the playability is fantastic.

9. Death Star

75159 Death Star LEGO Star Wars set
75159 Death Star LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75159
Movie/Show: Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
Release year: 2016
Number of pieces: 4016
RRP: $499.99 / £409.99
Number of Minifigures: 27 (R2-D2, R2-M3, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Death Star Droid, Death Star Trooper x2, Emperor Palpatine, Grand Moff Tarkin, Han Solo, Han Solo (Stormtrooper), Imperial Gunner, Imperian NCO, Imperial Officer, Imperial Stormtrooper x2, Interrogation Droid, Luke Skywalker (Tatooine), Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight), Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper), Mouse Droid, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, and Royal Guard x2)

This Death Star LEGO build is an update of the 10188 Death Star. It depicts many of the same scenes and has many of the same features, just upgraded and brought up to modern LEGO standards.

Even the box artwork is very similar, and it’s clear that they loved the original version but just wanted to create a more polished and refined version.

This particular set is jam packed with play features, giving you plenty of options as to how to play with your many, many Minifigures!

Not only do we get the Imperial briefing room scene, and the cell block shootout scene, but there is also a trash compactor, a tractor beam station, hanger bay, a control room, and a gunner room.

You truly are spoiled for choice when it comes to ways that you cam play with the LEGO Death Star set

Not only that but it comes with Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter Advanced, a cool little micro build that totally fits in with the rest of this LEGO set.

One of the big features is that this particular Death Star set comes with 27 Minifigures, with 9 of those being unique to the set. Now that’s an huge number of Minifigures for LEGO to include in one single set!

Overall while this set was copied beat for beat from the original, they really did work out all the design flaws and create a set that has more features packed into it than you could possibly imagine!

8. The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter

75325 The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter LEGO Star Wars set
75325 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75325
Movie/Show: The Book of Boba Fett (season 1) (2021)
Release year: 2022
Number of pieces: 412
RRP: $59.99 / £59.99
Number of Minifigures: 4 (The Mandalorian, Grogu (the child), Peli Motto, and BD-72)

The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter LEGO set very accurately depicts the new spaceship of everyone’s favorite bounty hunter.

This truly is a more customized and beat up version of the starfighter from the 7660 Naboo N-1 Starfighter set. A hot rod, if you will!

It has a lot of similar features to the original, while being distinctly different and distinguished from the ‘classic’ version. The gunmetal gray bricks are a fine replacement to the bright yellow.

There is room for one Minifigure in the cockpit, plus a small section for Grogu in the rear domed section.

The front section opens up to reveal the engine, while there are plenty of other compartments up and down the body to remove and play with.

It has a firing function and comes with several long red translucent missiles. Simply push down on the small, circular engine section to fire them.

When it comes to Minifigures, not only is there The Mandalorian and Grogu, but there is also Peli Motto and her droid BD-72, both of which make complete sense with this particular LEGO set.

Overall The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter LEGO set might look like a bit of a fixer-upper, but it is in reality one of the best-looking starfighters out there.

7. AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical-Enforcer) Walker

75337 AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical-Enforcer) Walker LEGO Star Wars set
75337 AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical-Enforcer) Walker LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75337
Movie/Show: The Clone Wars (season 7) (2020)
Release year: 2022
Number of pieces: 1082
RRP: $139.99 / £119.99
Number of Minifigures: 9 (Battle Droid x3, Clone Trooper Commander Cody, 212th Clone Trooper x3, 212th Clone Trooper Gunner, and Dwarf Spider Droid)

If you’re an army-builder, then the AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical-Enforcer) Walker LEGO set is a dream come true. Not only is the vehicle stunning, but the mix of Minifigures makes it worth the price!

The AT-TE can be opened up in various places, and plenty of Minifigures can fit inside. There are many little slots and areas where clones can sit, and it works really well as a troop carrier.

For example, the front red-tinted viewport can pull out entirely and seat a clone trooper to drive and control the AT-TE. It’s little things like that that make this set extra special.

It is of course articulated in all kinds of places, from the legs and the six feet, to the center section that joins the two halves of the body together.

For carrying it around, there is a handle that pops up from the center section. This makes it easy for you to transport it around without fear of the entire LEGO set breaking.

This set contains plenty of battle droid and clone trooper Minifigures. They have some great paint applications and look fantastic both in the AT-TE and on the ground battling each other.

You have a full squad of clones, from the average trooper, to a gunner, to Commander Cody.

Battle droids and clone troopers are always a win. Technically, you could buy multiple versions of this set and just keep building up your armies.

Overall the AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical-Enforcer) Walker set is one that lovers of the Clone Wars and the Prequel era will adore.

With its fantastic looks and playability, plus wonderful army-builder Minifigures, LEGO knocked it out of the park with this one!

6. Death Star Final Duel

75291 Death Star Final Duel LEGO Star Wars set
75291 Death Star Final Duel LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75291
Movie/Show: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Release year: 2021
Number of pieces: 775
RRP: $99.99 / £89.99
Number of Minifigures: 5 (Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine, and Royal Guard x2)

The Death Star Final Duel LEGO set might be small and compact, but it looks amazing and allows you to relive those iconic Return of the Jedi scenes with some of the most important characters.

The set consists of a large doorway and steps that lead up to the Emperor’s throne. The throne sits in the center of the three large circular windows.

It might be a simple concept, and for many people, it might not be of any interest, but it looks undeniably dark but cool.

The gangway and steps collapse, making for treacherous conditions for your Minifigures to battle on.

There is even a small section at the rear of the set where accessories such as the Emperor’s cloak and Sith lightning can be stored. It’s all very neat and tidy!

The Minifigures – while not all that rare – are completely appropriate for the scene. We’ve had multiple versions of all of them, but that doesn’t make them any less awesome.

The Darth Vader is the only one that is exclusive to the set, as he features printing on his arms – quite a rare thing, as far as Minifigures go.

In fact, these are the kinds of Minifigures that would have been welcome with the 10143 Death Star II LEGO set!

Overall the Death Star Final Duel set is action-packed with some appropriately awesome Minifigures. It allows you to recreate one of the most poignant and climactic scenes in the entire Star Wars Saga.

5. Anakin’s Podracer – 20th Anniversary Edition

75258 Anakin's Podracer - 20th Anniversary Edition LEGO Star Wars set
75258 Anakin’s Podracer – 20th Anniversary Edition LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75258
Movie/Show: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Release year: 2019
Number of pieces: 279
RRP: $29.99 / £24.99
Number of Minifigures: 3 (Anakin Skywalker, Padme Naberrie, and Luke Skywalker (retro pilot))

The Anakin’s Podracer – 20th Anniversary Edition LEGO set is a wonderfully retro-looking throwback to the early days of LEGO Star Wars back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

This new build is an updated version of the 7131 Anakin’s Podracer LEGO set, originally released in April of 1999. This was one of the very first LEGO Star Wars sets produced.

It maintains all the original charms while updating the looks and build techniques. For example, instead of a sandy piece connecting the pod engines and the cockpit, there is now a much less obtrusive clear piece.

Many parts of the engine open, close, and move, and it comes mounted to a small but stable base that allows you to pose the podracer however you want.

Much like the original podracer build, this one comes with Anakin Skywalker and Padme Naberrie Minifigures.

However while the original also came with a pit droid, this new and updated version comes with a retro yellow plastic Luke Skywalker.

This anniversary Minifigure is indeed a special one, coming mounted on its own little commemorative base that marks the passing of 20 years.

Overall the Anakin’s Podracer – 20th Anniversary Edition LEGO set not only looks fantastic, but it is a fantastic and nostalgic throwback to the early days of LEGO Star Wars.

4. Ultimate Collector Series Mos Eisley Cantina

75290 Ultimate Collector Series Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO Star Wars set
75290 Ultimate Collector Series Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75290
Movie/Show: Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
Release year: 2020
Number of pieces: 3187
RRP: $399.99 / £349.99
Number of Minifigures: 21 (Chewbacca, Bith Musician x3, C-3PO, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Wuher, Jawa, Greedo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Ponda Baba, Dr. Cornelius Evazan, Labria, Garindan, Momar Nadon, Kabe, Hrchek Kal Fas, Imperial Sandtrooper x2)

We of course love it when LEGO gives us vehicles and spaceships, but it’s especially awesome when we get playsets.

The Ultimate Collector Series Mos Eisley Cantina is an exciting and sprawling playset that really captures that Tatooine vibe and helps you live out those iconic cantina scenes.

The building opens up to reveal the bar, stage, and booths where you can sit your Minifigures. And, oh my days, you get plenty of Minifigures!

From the main characters, to some side characters, to a few from the deep background, the Minifigure selection is first-rate. There are some really rare and obscure characters in there!

We love that a dewback has been included in the set as large Minifigures are always a treat! It comes complete with a saddle, so one of the Imperial sandtrooper Minifigures can ride it.

As well as the cantina, there are several stalls and shopfronts to help fill out the Mos Eisley scene. Similarly, there is a small landspeeder build, and moisture vaporators to dot around your play scene.

We will admit that because of the size and scale of this build, it’s not going to be one that kids really enjoy building. It’s a long and laborious process, but a rewarding one for true Star Wars fans!

But don’t worry – kids will undoubtedly love playing with it when it’s complete, though!

Overall this faithful replica of the iconic drinking establishment looks great and feels like a quality product. It might take a while to put it together, but the results are worth the wait!

3. Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon

Set number: 75192
Movie/Show: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1977) / Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Release year: 2017
Number of pieces: 7541
RRP: $849.99 / £734.99
Number of Minifigures: 8 (BB-8, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Finn, Han Solo (young), Han Solo (old), Princess Leia, and Rey)

When it comes to Star Wars spaceships, the Millennium Falcon is an absolute fan favorite. It might be a ‘hunk of junk’ or ‘garbage’, but beyond its rough looks, it’s one hell of a vehicle!

The Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon has tried to bring this ship to life in LEGO form. In fact, this version of the Falcon is one of the single biggest LEGO Star Wars set ever released.

Not only does the cockpit open up to house several Minifigures, but the back section can be removed to allow you to play inside.

This is where you’ll find a lot of the easter eggs. THe back section contains fun little nods and references to the entire Star Wars Saga. You just have to discover them for yourself as you build!

One of the things that we love most is that the Millennium Falcon can be adapted to make it either the one we see in the Original Trilogy, or the one from the Sequel Trilogy.

It does this with interchangeable radar dishes and Minifigures from the two different eras, with 2 of them being exclusive to this set.

The Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon is solidly built, making it a sturdy vehicle.

They went out of their way to ensure that no part of this build was flimsy or could fail and ensured that each and every detail was as faithful to the Star Wars Saga source material as possible.

Overall this is a fantastically fun set whether you love Star Wars or not. It might be monstrously huge, but the size is one of the best things about it. Combine that with the amazing details, and you have a truly unique LEGO set!

2. Ultimate Collector Series The Razor Crest

Set number: 75331
Movie/Show: The Mandalorian (season 1) (2019)
Release year: 2022
Number of pieces: 6187
RRP: $599.99 / £519.99
Number of Minifigures: 4 (The Mandalorian, Grogu (the child), Kuiil, and The Mythrol)

We finally come onto the second Razor Crest of this list – this time it’s the Ultimate Collector Series version. This one has 5146 additional pieces, making it over 6 times bigger than the 75292 version.

But boy oh boy, what you get is something amazing! This set is huge and has all of the details that fans have come to expect from Ultimate Collector Series LEGO sets.

A lot of the ship opens up and gives you plenty of areas to play with the Minifigures. The cockpit comfortably seats three, with room for many more in the back hold section.

The back door of the ship can be raised and lowered, and the side hatch also opens and closes, making it very accurate to what is seen in the TV show.

Minifigure wise we somewhat predictably get The Mandalorian and Grogu. We also get a couple of cool extras, though.

It’s fun that we get Kuiil, and we also get the first version of the Mythrol, a character that is not available in any other sets.

One of the most unexpectedly great things about this build, though, is that we get a blurrg too.

Its inclusion is certainly welcome and adds a different twist to the set. The blurrg can also fit comfortably in the Razor Crest’s cargo hold.

The spaceship itself looks sleek and well proportioned and even had retractable landing gear. While the two side engines might look precarious, the build is sturdy, and they are held tightly onto the main body.

Overall the Ultimate Collector Series Razor Crest is a delight to build and looks fantastic. It will be a welcome addition to both fans of Star Wars and fans of intricate and beautiful LEGO builds.

1. Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored-Transport)

75313 Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored-Transport) LEGO Star Wars set
75313 Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored-Transport) LEGO Star Wars set

Set number: 75313
Movie/Show: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Release year: 2021
Number of pieces: 6785
RRP: $849.99 / £734.99
Number of Minifigures: 9 (AT-AT Driver x2, General Maximillian Veers, Luke Skywalker, and Snowtrooper x5)

The AT-AT is one of the most unique, instantly recognizable, and iconic sci-fi vehicles ever. The silhouette is instantly recognizable, and as a vehicle, there is nothing else out there quite like it.

We’ll start off by saying this is a BIG build. Standing at 24.5 inches tall – or just over 2 ft – LEGO has knocked it out of the park with this set. It’s impressive on so many different levels!

LEGO have tried to recreate that automatic, slow, lumbering robotic gait that made them so monstrous. It is mechanised and moves in an eerily realistic way – exactly as you see on screen!

You can easily recreate the scenes from the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. There is even a small flap on the underbelly that Luke Skywalker cut into in order to destroy it.

The AT-AT has a nicely designed interior. As we never really saw the interior of the AT-ATs on screen, the LEGO team were able to have a little creative freedom to explore some options.

What they came up with is fantastic and makes great use of the space. They made room for plenty of snowtroopers in there, as well as two white speeder bikes that slot neatly into the rear of the vehicle.

Overall the LEGO AT-AT is an imposing set, made all the more special and unique by its ability to walk and move. It’s tall, it’s imposing, and it’s a set you NEED in your life! A truly worthy holder of the first place position!

Final thoughts

As you can see from this review list, there are some absolutely incredible LEGO Star Wars sets out there that cover all of the eras, movies, and TV shows.

And not only do these sets allow you to recreate your favorite scenes, they invite you to dream up new ones. After all, who said you can’t combine a Prequel set with Sequel characters?!

It would be cool to see Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren from the 75256 Kylo Ren’s Shuttle interacting with the 75058 MTT. The possibilities are endless!

Are some of these sets super expensive? Yes. But you get what you pay for! Luckily, though, some of the sets are very affordable and are great even if you’re on a budget.

The 75313 Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored-Transport) totally deserves that number one spot because of how grand and detailed it is.

Size-wise it is second to none, the way it looks and moves is fantastic, it has an incredible amount of play value, and the army-building possibilities of the Minifigures is first-rate.

But in all honesty, we could have put the rest of the LEGO sets in any order, and this list would have still worked.

Each is special and awesome in its own way! The fact of the matter is that LEGO Star Wars sets are very rarely bad, and even with the worst of sets, there’s something to enjoy!

So now it’s over to you! Which of these LEGO sets do you love? Do you feel that there are any others that should have made it onto this list?

As always, we love to hear from you, so be sure to let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section down below!
