Starting the Quest
To kick off the quest for Robin’s lost axe, you’ll need to wait until the 11th day of Spring. Once you’ve reached this day, make your way to the mailbox outside your farmhouse. Among the typical letters and flyers, you should find a distressed note from Robin, detailing her misplaced axe and her dire need for its return. This letter is your cue that the quest has officially begun.
Location of the Lost Axe
Finding Robin’s lost axe requires a keen eye and a bit of exploration. Hidden in the expansive Cindersap Forest, the axe lies to the south of Marnie’s Ranch. It’s not immediately visible, as the forest is quite large. Venture deeper into the wooded area, especially where the forest floor becomes marshy and dotted with shrubs. Nestled in this somewhat obscure location, you’ll discover the axe on the ground.
Exit your farm by heading South. After a while, you’ll come to the entrance to Cindersnap Forest.
When you get to the signpost, turn Southeast until you come upon Marnie’s Ranch.
Head South from Marnie’s Ranch until you reach the river bank.
Follow the left curve of the riverbank, making your way down until you see a bridge.
Cross the bridge to your right to access the little island in the middle of the Cindersnap River.
There’s only one way off the island. Cross the Southern bridge, and you’ll find yourself in the Southernmost part of the forest.
Head South from the bridge, following the line of shrubs.
After a few paces, head East. This last part is quite difficult as the scenery looks very similar. However, you should see a triangle of bushes that indicate you’re heading in the right direction.
There, in a shady corner next to a cliff, you’ll find Robin’s Axe. Right-click to pick it up and add it to your inventory.
Returning Robin’s Axe
After successfully locating the lost axe in Cindersap Forest, the next step is ensuring its return to Robin. Head to Robin’s Carpenter Shop, which is located in the Mountain area, north of Pelican Town. Once inside, approach Robin and interact with her. An option should pop up, allowing you to return the axe. Select it, and watch as Robin expresses her gratitude for your assistance.
Aside from the Carpenter Shop, you can find Robin in these areas around the Valley.
- The Mountain: When she’s not working, Robin often takes walks in the Mountain area, which is just north of her shop.
- Pierre’s General Store: On Tuesdays around 2:10 PM, Robin attends an exercise class along with some other women of Pelican Town.
- Stardrop Saloon: Like many residents, Robin sometimes visits the Stardrop Saloon in the evening. She’s usually there on Friday nights, enjoying a break from her workweek.
- Community Center: Occasionally, Robin visits the Community Center, checking out the various rooms and contributing to the town’s efforts to restore it.
- Her Home: In the early morning and late evening, Robin is often at home, which is attached to her Carpenter Shop. It’s where she starts and ends her day.

- Fridays from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm: Robin goes to the Stardrop Saloon to dance with her husband, Demetrius.
Reward for Returning the Lost Axe
Upon successfully returning the lost axe to Robin, your efforts are not overlooked. As a token of her deep appreciation, Robin rewards you with 250g, a tidy sum, especially for those in the early stages of their farming journey.
But beyond the monetary gain, completing this quest also enhances your relationship with Robin with a whole heart, building trust and camaraderie. This gesture is a gentle reminder of the interconnectedness of Pelican Town’s residents and the significance of small acts of kindness within the Stardew Valley community.
Benefits of Being Friends with Robin
Gifts of Wood and Stone
As you develop your friendship with Robin, she will occasionally mail you gifts of wood and stone. Both wood and stone are fundamental building resources in Stardew Valley. Securing a steady supply is essential for constructing and upgrading buildings on your farm and crafting various items. Receiving these materials as a gift can save you both time and effort.
Six Hearts: The Blueprint to Musical Blocks
After reaching six hearts of friendship, Robin will give you the blueprints for a crafting recipe – the “Flute Block” and the “Drum Block”. These are unique items that produce musical notes when you walk past them. Crafting and placing them on your farm can add a personal touch and a bit of whimsy, setting your farm apart from others.
Seven Hearts: Pumpkin Soup Recipe
At 7 Hearts, Robin will mail you the recipe for Pumpkin Soup, a dish that boosts both health by 90 and energy by 200. Additionally, Pumpkin Soup offers a defence and luck buff. In the demanding life of a farmer, dishes like this can be crucial during long days in mines, extended fishing sessions, or simply tending to your crops and animals.
More Ways to Increase Friendship with Robin
Gifting is one of the most straightforward ways to increase friendship points. You can give Robin up to two gifts per week, so choosing wisely is essential.
Robin’s loved gifts will boost the most friendship points, so if possible, gift her the following:
- Peach: This fruit can be grown in the summer with a fruit tree
- Spaghetti: This can be cooked in the kitchen once you’ve learned the recipe or is always for sale at the Stardrop Salon for 240g.
- Goat Cheese: Produced from a goat’s milk using a cheese press.
Remembering and celebrating Robin’s birthday on Fall 21 with a gift, preferably one she loves, can significantly boost your friendship points. Birthdays offer a chance to earn extra points compared to regular gifting, so don’t miss out!
Finally, Keep an eye on the “Help Wanted” board outside Pierre’s General Store. Occasionally, Robin may post requests for items she needs. Fulfilling these quests can result in increased friendship points, along with a small monetary reward.
