The Goyles were a pure blood wizarding family, so Goyle probably grew up with ideas about blood lines and the superiority of wizards to muggles. This would have primed him to be attracted to the ideas suggested by Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

Goyle would have attended Hogwarts as a young wizard and was almost certainly in Slytherin House. He was probably in the same year as Lucius Malfoy who was a friend and fellow Death Eater, or a few years behind since he looked up to Malfoy.

During the First Wizarding War, he was an active Death Eater, but he was able to avoid time in Azkaban by claiming that he had been put under the Imperius Curse.

But he was among the small number of Death Eaters that attended when Lord Voldemort called them to the cemetery in Little Hangleton to see his reformed body. When Lord Voldemort saw Goyle, alongside his old friend Crabbe, he noted that he was disappointed in the pair, but that they would do better this time around.

We do not know much about what Goyle did following Lord Voldemort’s second return. For example, he was not among the Death Eaters that followed Harry to the Department of Mysteries. He is also not specifically mentioned in the Battle of the Seven Potters, though he may have been present.

He was also presumably present at the Battle of Hogwarts, but his actions are unknown. If he survived the battle, he would surely have been sent to Azkaban for his actions.

Goyle Snr Personality Type & Traits

We know almost nothing about Goyle, except that he believed in Death Eater values and was attracted to the dark arts. The fact that we know little about his Death Eater activities may suggest that Lord Voldemort did not trust his abilities and therefore chose not to use him, or the opposite. Voldemort may have entrusted him with secret tasks that never came to the attention of the Order of the Phoenix.

Goyle Snr Zodiac Sign & Birthday

Goyle must have been born before 1960 to have been old enough to be a Death Eater in the First Wizarding War. He may have been born as early as 1954, the same year as Lucius Malfoy. His personality suggests that his zodiac sign could be Sagittarius. People born under this sign tend to be attracted to the idea of belonging to a group. Their love of danger and adventure might also see them attracted to the dark arts.
