Graham Montague was a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Slytherin House and was on the Slytherin Quidditch Team.
In 1996, when he was a member of the Inquisitorial Squad, Fred and George Weasley shoved him in a Vanishing Cabinet that was in the Room of Requirement. He spent some time in limbo between Hogwarts and Borgin and Burke’s. This is what gave Draco Malfoy the idea for how to sneak Death Eaters into Hogwarts the following year.
About Graham Montague
|Born||1981 or earlier|
|Blood Status||Pure Blood (probably)|
|Occupation||Student Chaser Inquisitorial Squad|
|Zodiac Sign||Sagittarius (speculative)|
Graham Montague is a British wizard who, like most British wizards, attended Hogwarts. He was sorted into Slytherin House and was probably a year or two younger than Harry Potter.
At some point, Montague joined the Slytherin Quidditch team as a Chaser and he played in the final match between Slytherin and Gryffindor in 1994. Like many of his teammates, he was not afraid to play dirty. To take the Quaffle from Katie Bell, he grabbed her head, almost forcing her off her broom. Madam Hooch awarded Gryffindor a penalty for this behavior.
In the same year, like many of his Slytherin friends, he joined Dolores Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad. This allowed him to discipline other students, and even award or take away house points.
On his very first day with his new powers, he tried to take house points away from Fred and George Weasley. They shoved him in a Vanishing Cabinet before he could get the words out. The cabinet was faulty, so he became trapped between one cabinet, that was in Hogwarts, and the other, that was in Borgin and Burke’s. He could hear what was happening in both locations.
Montague managed to apparate out of the cabinet the following day. But he was not experienced, and ended up lodged inside a toilet on the fourth floor. Because he did such a poor job it was almost fatal. He passed a few weeks in a disoriented state.
When his parents heard what had happened, they arrived at the school furious. Harry, Ron, and Hermione saw them arrive. Hermione suggested telling Madam Pomfrey what had happened in case it would help treat him. In the end, the trio said nothing.
Montague eventually recovered and told his story to the other Slytherins. This is what gave Draco Malfoy the idea of using the Vanishing Cabinet to sneak Death Eaters into Hogwarts the following year.
Graham Montague Personality Type & Traits
Like most Slytherin’s, Montague seems to have been ambitious, rising to the position of Quidditch captain, despite not being the oldest on the Slytherin team. He was happy to use underhanded tactics on the pitch, as long as it meant winning the game.
Montague was also clearly resourceful. He was able to apparate out of the vanishing cabinet despite not being trained to apparate. It left him severely injured, but he judged that it was worth the risk.
Graham Montague Zodiac Sign & Birthday
We are not sure exactly when Graham Montague was born. He seems to have been younger than Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. His personality suggests that he might be a Sagittarius. People born under this sign are personally ambitious, but also like the security of a group, as Montague did with the Inquisitorial Squad. They also tend to be fearless and attracted to risk.
