JJK movie 0 was recently released internationally, and we can all agree that it is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best shonen movie of 2022.
It is packed with a compelling narrative, amazing fight scenes, stunning animation, and, lastly, a cliffhanger end-credit scene that has raised a lot of controversy among fans.
This post will feature a full breakdown of the end-credit scene, what it means, and how it links to the anime and manga. (Beware of spoilers!)
What Happens in The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 End Credits Scene?

In the post-credit scene, Yuta (the movie protagonist) is dining with a former enemy, Miguel, in Kenya, Africa. They are suddenly interrupted by Gojo, and before they enter a conversation, the end-credit scene ends.
While this brief scene might seem vague to an average anime audience, manga fans don’t feel the same way as it shares a strong connection to the current manga timeline.
As an average anime audience, you can’t help but question why Yuta is having a nice time with Miguel, a former enemy.
Miguel was once a villain who supported Geto’s scheme to orchestrate the night parade of a hundred demons.
He was popular for being able to stand his ground against the powerful Satoru Gojo, something that not everyone can do.
However, following their battle, Gojo somehow coerced Miguel into accepting Yuta as his protégé to help him hone his boundless potential, and become a stronger sorcerer.
Ever since then, Yuta has been training with Miguel in Kenya and wasn’t able to feature in the first season of the series.
He is, however, mentioned multiple times throughout the first season, making it clear that he’s a notable character in the coming seasons.
Yuta is first mentioned in episode 5, where Megumi explains to Nobara that Yuta is currently studying overseas and won’t be present at the Goodwill Event.
Later on, in episode 6, Gojo also mentions Yuta, claiming that he possesses the potential to surpass him someday.
Yuta gets a few other offhand mentions by Panda, Mechamaru, Todo, and other characters throughout the series.
What Timeline in The Manga Does the Movie End Credit Scene Fit into?

The end credit scene from the movie fits into chapter 145 of the manga, where Gojo is trapped in a prison realm, and Yuta is back in japan.
In this scene, Yuta, together with Megumi, Yuji, Maki, and Choso contacts master Tengen for help to free Gojo from the prison realm.
This is when Tengen mentions certain cursed tools that have the power to open the prison realm; the black rope, and the Inverted Spear of Heaven.
Yuta then chimed in, adding that he had searched for the remaining black rope with Miguel in Africa, but to no avail.
Unable to access the cursed tools, the team reverts to another strategy to free Gojo.
What Timeline in The Anime Series Does the Movie End-Credit Scene Fit into?

The end-credit scene fits into episode 14 of the anime series. Gojo stated to have been away on a short business trip overseas and brought back souvenirs that happen to be a protective charm from a particular tribe.
We believe Gojo’s short trip was to Africa (as seen in the end-credit scene) and the protective charm was from Miguel’s tribe, who are great sorcerers with a history of making cursed objects.
This reference serves as a perfect way to introduce Yuta’s official debut in the anime series.

When Would Yuta Officially Debut in The Anime Series?
According to the official key visual release, that is if the anime accurately adapts the manga, Yuta Okkotsu would most likely make his official anime debut in the third season of the series.
In September 2022, Jujutsu Kaisen revealed a teaser visual showing the arcs that will feature in the second season.
This includes Gojo’s past arc and Shibuya Incident Arc, which many fans consider to be the best arcs in the entire story.
Fans should note that Yuta didn’t appear in the manga until the Itadori Extermination Arc.
Given this and the fact that the Itadori Extermination Arc wouldn’t feature in the second season, it is safe to say Yuta won’t make the series debut until the third season.
Regardless of when Yuta debuts in the anime series, we can be sure to enjoy the second season.
