Lee Jordan Early Life

Lee Jordan was born in 1977/78 and, like most young British wizards, started to attend Hogwarts when he was 11 years old, which was in 1989. He was sorted into Gryffindor House and was in the same year as Fred and George Weasley, his best friends.

He also became close with fellow Gryffindor Angelina Johnson, on whom he had a crush. He would often comment on both her good looks and talent while he was commentating her Quidditch games. On one occasion, he complained that she did not want to go out with him.

Lee was a popular student and was also well-known as he acted as a commentator for the Quidditch matches. He was overseen in this duty by Professor McGonagall but still struggled to suppress his bias for Gryffindor. He would also sometimes get distracted. For example, in 1993 when Harry got a new Firebolt, this was the subject of most of his commentary.

Like his best friends Fred and George, Lee had a penchant for pranks. For example, in 1991 he brought a giant tarantula with him onto the train to Hogwarts. On another occasion, he may have discovered a new secret passageway out of the school, that he wanted to share with the Weasley twins. After his exams in 1991, he joined Fred and George in the Great Lake, tickling the Giant Squid.

Lee was one of the students who considered trying to trick the Goblet of Fire to get his name in the cup despite being underage. However, unlike the twins, he did not end up crossing the age line. He laughed heartily at their expense when they ended up in the Hospital Wing.

When Ron stopped speaking to Harry for a period because of the Triwizard Tournament, he spent more time hanging out with Fred, George, and Lee. He found out that Ludo Bagman had cheated Lee’s father over a bet made at the Quidditch World Cup. This confirms that Lee was at least half blood.

Lee Jordan during the Umbridge Revolt

At the start of the 1995 school year, Lee was working closely with Fred and George in their plans for their joke shop. They sat together on the train talking “business”. Lee also saw Sirius Black in his Animagus form, but thought he was simply a dog.

Lee was one of the first people to join Dumebledore’s Army when Hermione suggested that they establish a group to learn real defense against the dark arts from Harry. Umbridge had forbidden students from practicing defensive spells in class exactly because she and the Ministry feared that Dumbledore could raise an army of students. He was at the original Hog’s Head meeting and attended all the subsequent meetings.

When Hagrid finally returned to school after his secret mission seeking giants, Lee was one of the students who was happy to see him. He went over to shake Hagrid’s hand in the Great Hall and welcome him back.

As Umbridge introduced an increasing number of decrees to control student behavior, Lee joined the rebellion. For example, Umbridge forbade teachers to talk to students about topics outside their subject area. When Umbridge told off Fred and George for playing exploding snap, he pointed out that was not related to her subject, defense against the dark arts.

As a consequence, he was made to serve detention using Umbridge’s blood quill that inscribed the lines that students were writing into the skin on the hand. When Harry realized, he suggested Lee use Essence of Murlap to heal the hand, as Hermione had done for him.

He felt extremely sad when his friends Fred and George Weasley left school after an impressive prank. Even his Quidditch commentary lost its flair as he missed his two friends. He even swore into the microphone when Ravenclaw scored the first goal against Gryffindor.

He took on the role of harassing Umbridge for the twins, levitating Nifflers into her office. This did more harm than good as Hagrid was suspected, giving Umbridge an excuse to sack him.

Lee Jordan after Hogwarts

Lee Jordan left Hogwarts at the same time that the Second Wizarding War began in earnest. He attended Fleur Delacour’s wedding to Bill Weasley, and was there when the Patronus of Kingsley Shacklebolt warned the guests that the Ministry had fallen into Death Eater control.

Lee’s contribution to the war effort was to set up a radio show called Potterwatch in which he reported news that was suppressed by the Death Eater controlled Ministry and Daily Prophet. He used the code name River and changed the password to access the show daily to prevent snooping Death Eaters. He co-hosted on various occasions with Kingsley Shacklebolt, Remus Lupin, and Fred Weasley.

Lee returned to Hogwarts when the call came in 1998. He would have been useful during the battle due to his intimate knowledge of the secret passageways of Hogwarts, which he guarded together with Fred, George, and Hannah Abbott.

Lee and George Weasley slammed Death Eater Yaxley to the floor, incapacitating him near the end of the conflict. The pair would also have mourned the death of Fred Weasley together.

Lee Jordan Personality Type & Traits

Lee comes across as a fun-loving guy and a natural comic. He is quick on his feet, as seen in his Quidditch commentary, and isn’t afraid to make fun of himself, as we see when he repeatedly complains that Angelina Johnson won’t go out with him in his commentary.

He was clearly a loyal friend, who defended his friends Fred and George, and felt their absence when they left Hogwarts a few months earlier than him.

Lee also clearly believed in doing what was right, taking it on himself to keep the wizarding world who was against the Death Eaters appraised of what was really happening, and giving them hope that things were happening to bring down Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

Lee Jordan Zodiac Sign & Birthday

We do not know Lee’s birthday, but he must have been born in 1977/78 to have been in the same year as Fred and George at Hogwarts. His personality suggests that Lee’s zodiac sign may be Libra. People born under this sign are quick-witted. They are naturally popular without seeking the spotlight. They also believe in justice, fairness, and doing what is right.
