Stardew Valley is a game of many talents. It is a farming RPG at its core, but the game explores many other areas.

There is also a little bit of town management, a dating simulator, and interior decorating in the game!

In the later game, when you have acquired the Catalogue from Pierre’s General Store and the Furniture Catalogue from Robin, the interior decorating part of the game becomes especially fun.

Now you have unlimited access to all of the decorating and furniture items!

Whether you are just starting or decorating a fully upgraded house, many players don’t know that they can rotate a lot of the furniture, or they don’t know how!

This guide will give you a detailed overview of how to rotate furniture on your platform so that you can get the most out of the part of Stardew Valley!

To rotate furniture in Stardew Valley, start by storing it in your inventory and then equip it.

Use the transparent preview of the furniture as a guide and rotate the furniture using the correct button for your preferred platform.

Once you have the desired rotation, place the furniture in any green highlighted areas around you!

All of the green squares indicate an area where the furniture can be placed in.

Anywhere taken up already or out of bounds will turn red when you try to place it there.

This includes where your character is standing, so make sure you have moved them out of the way if they are standing where you want the furniture to go!

When rotating the furniture, don’t forget that the correct button to rotate differs on each platform.

To find the right one for your game, find your platform below and read the instructions listed underneath!

Not all furniture can be rotated in Stardew Valley. If you are using the correct method to rotate furniture on your platform but see no change, you are dealing with a piece of furniture that cannot be rotated.

This is usually due to something that needs to be visually forward facing, such as the fireplaces or artwork.

Another way to know if a piece of furniture can be rotated is the sound that the game plays when you press the rotate button.

A successful rotation has one sound effect, while an unsuccessful one has a different sound effect.

Pay attention to the successful sound so you can tell if a piece of furniture cannot be rotated.

This can help you tell the difference between something that can’t be rotated and something that just looks the same from all sides, such as the square-shaped tables!
