In Stardew Valley, you may give an item to some NPCs to increase their friendship points.
You can give two gifts per week to someone, but the exception to this rule is during their birthday week.
Aside from the two weekly gifts, you can add a third one for that day.
Birthday gifts will multiply the items’ effect on their friendship by 8, be it positive or negative points.
Stardew Valley Birthdays Table and Calendar
Almost all interactable NPCs have birthdays, which you can check on the Calendar hung at Pierre’s General Store.
Alternatively, you can buy one from Robin at her Carpenter’s Shop for 2,000g to keep track of everyone’s birthdays.
If you purchase the Furniture Catalogue, you can obtain the Calendar for 0g.

On Spring 13, falling on a Saturday, you can go on the Egg Hunt at Pelican Town.
You can compete against other villagers to pick up eggs scattered through the town. You will need at least 9 eggs to win the competition.
The Floral Dance event happens at Cindersap’s Forest on Spring 24, falling on a Wednesday.
You may ask a bachelor or bachelorette to dance with you, but they will refuse your request if you have less than 4 hearts with them.
If you have a dance partner, their friendship points increase by 250 points or 1 whole heart.
At the beginning of Year 2, Kent will return from the war’s frontline and greet the character in their farmhouse.

During the morning of Summer 3 in your first year, you will feel an earthquake that unlocks the railroad area. This grants you access to the spa center.
On Summer 11, on a Thursday, the Luau event happens at the Beach.
It’s an excellent opportunity to raise friendship points with all villagers at once with a single item.
Summer ends with the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies event on Sunday 28, between 10 PM and midnight.
This event won’t raise or decrease friendship points with anyone.
You may encounter Leo once you fix the boat and travel to Ginger Island.
Once you reach 6 hearts with him, you may trigger a cutscene where Linus invites Leo to live on the mainland. From then on, he’ll have a treehouse next to Linus’ tent.

One of the events during this season is the Stardew Valley Fair, which happens on Fall 16 on a Tuesday.
There are no penalties or rewards for any NPCs friendship points.
During Spirit’s Eve, you may obtain a Golden Pumpkin as a reward once you complete the maze, located at the top area of the event.
The Golden Pumpkin is a universally loved item, so it’s an excellent way to increase friendships with anyone for their birthday.

Winter is the only season where you get three main events to consider on the Calendar.
You may participate in the Festival of Ice on Winter 8, happening on the second Monday of that month in Cindersap Forest. This event won’t affect any NPCs’ friendship points.
Between Winter 15 and 17, starting Monday until Wednesday, the Night Market will appear at the Beach.
You may purchase goods from merchants, witness the Mermaid performance to obtain a Pearl, and fish undersea with the Submarine.
No mechanics affect any NPCs’ friendship points in this event, but the Pearl is a universally loved gift.
In Stardew Valley, you can celebrate the Feast of the Winter Star on Winter 25. You will receive a letter on the 18th from Mayor Lewis with the name of their gift recipient.
During that event, you may give them their gift, and you will find out who their secret gift-giver was at the event’s end.
The gift you give away will be worth 5 times the average friendship points.

Best Stardew Valley Birthday Gifts
Loved gifts are worth 80 friendship points and get an 8x bonus when given on a villager’s birthday, totaling 640 points.
Liked gifts, in contrast, only give 45 friendship points or 360 points if they’re birthday gifts.
Even if there are Universal Loves and Likes you can give villagers to ensure the maximum number of friendship points, you must know about each NPC preference to avoid any mistakes in gift-giving and losing points.
In Stardew Valley, these gifts get an additional multiplier depending on the item’s quality.
Abigail
The best and easiest gift to give Abigail is an Amethyst. All Universal Loved items work for Abigail as gifts.
She also loves Pumpkin, Pufferfish, Chocolate Cake, Spicy Eel, and Blackberry Cobbler.
If you don’t have any of these items, another great option is gifting Abigail a Quartz for her birthday, a liked and accessible gift you may find while exploring the Mines.
Abigail’s birthday is Fall 13. You may often find Abigail standing on the bridge at the river crossing east to the museum on most sunny days during Fall.

Alex
Alex’s birthday falls on Summer 13. His selection of gifts is limited since he only loves the Complete Breakfast and Salmon Dinner, alongside all universally loved items.
Another alternative for his birthday is to gift him any universally liked item, like flowers or gems, or any egg, except for the Void Egg.
During Summer, he’s found at the Beach in the morning and runs the Ice Cream Stand in the afternoon.
Caroline
In Stardew Valley, Caroline’s birthday happens on Winter 7. Her list of loved gifts includes all universal loves, Fish Taco, Green Tea, Summer Spangle, and Tropical Curry.
You may also gift her Tea Leaves, a Daffodil, or any universal likes, but she dislikes Amaranth, Duck Mayonnaise, and Mayonnaise.
Her schedule doesn’t change with the seasons, so you may find her outside her bedroom starting at 1:30 PM.
Clint
Clint’s birthday is on Winter 26. Suppose you want to increase the maximum number of friendship points with Clint.
In that case, you may gift him any of the following items: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Artichoke Dip, Emeral, Fiddlehead Risotto, Gold Bar, Iridium Bar, Jade, Omni Geode, Ruby, Topaz, as well as any universally loved items in Stardew Valley.
Another alternative is to gift Clint a Copper Bar, an Iron Bar, or any universal likes, except for flowers since he dislikes them.
You may find him most of the time between the Blacksmith or The Stardrop Saloon.
If you restore the Community Center, his schedule changes: he leaves his house and goes to the Community Center’s Boiler Room, leave at 5 PM, and goes to the saloon before returning home to sleep.
Clint will only be at the Blacksmith on rainy days in this scenario.
Demetrius
According to his character sheet, Demetrius’ birthday falls on Summer 19.
The best gifts to give Demetrius in Stardew Valley are Bean Hotpot, Ice Cream, Rice Pudding, Strawberry, or any universally loved item.
Another option is to gift him any universal likes, eggs (except the Void Egg), fruits barring the Strawberry, or a Purple Mushroom.
During his regular Summer routine, Demetrius stands in front of the fountain west of the Community Center and inside his home’s kitchen.
Dwarf
The Dwarf lives in the Mines’ entrance, behind a rock you can break with a steel pickaxe or a cherry bomb.
For their birthday on Summer 22, the Dwarf loves all Gems, Omni Geode, and all universally loved items as gifts.
Another option is to gift the Dwarf any universally liked item or artifact, a Cave Carrot, or a Quartz.
Once you unlock the entrance to their shop, the Dwarf won’t move from its position. Note that you require the Dwarvish Translation Guide to affect your friendship with them.
Elliott
Elliott lives at the Beach and his birthday is on Fall 5.
He loves Crab Cake, Duck Feather, Lobster, Pomegranate, Squid Ink, Tom Kha Soup, and all universal loves.
If you want to raise friendship with Elliott, you can also give him Octopus, Squid, any fruit barring Pomegranate and Salmonberry, and all universally liked items except for Amaranth and Pizza.
During Fall, his regular schedule consists primarily of going to the Library and back, with slight changes on whether you have more or less than 6 hearts with Leah.
Emily
Emily’s birthday falls on Spring 27, and her loved gifts include all gems, all universal loves, Wool, Cloth, and Survival Burger.
You may also gift her a Daffodil, Quartz, or some universally liked images.
Note that she dislikes or hates Fish Taco, Fried Eel, Ice Cream, Maki Roll, Rice Pudding, Salmon Dinner, Spicy Eel, and Sashimi.
Emily spends most of her days between her parents’ house and working part-time at The Stardrop Saloon, regardless of the season.
Evelyn
According to her character description, Evelyn’s birthday is in Winter 20.
Evelyn loves Fairy Rose, Beet, Chocolate Cake, Stuffin, Tulip, Diamond, and all universally loved items in Stardew Valley.
If you don’t have any loved gifts for Evelyn, you can also gift her any milk, a Daffodil, or a universally liked item barring Fried Eel, Garlic, Maki Roll, Sashimi, Spicy Eel, and Trout Soup.
Evelyn’s normal daily schedule has her tending the flowers in Pelican Town’s center or her home’s kitchen.
George

George’s regular schedule has him in front of his home’s TV most of the time, so it’s relatively easy to find for gift-giving.
Gus
In Stardew Valley, Gus celebrates his birthday on Summer 8.
Gus’ loved gifts are Diamond, Escargot, Fish Taco, Orange, Tropical Curry, and all universal loves.
He also likes Daffodil, and all universally liked good, except for Coleslaw since he hates that meal.
He’ll most of the time be behind the bar at The Stardrop Saloon or browsing Pierre’s General Store.
After you’ve renovated the Community Center, Gus will also stand in the Pantry.
Haley
Haley’s birthday falls on Spring 14 on Stardew Valley’s calendar.
Her loved gifts are Coconut, Fruit Salad, Pink Cafe, Sunflower, and all universal loves. She’s the only NPC that hates receiving a Prismatic Shard as a gift.
Haley also likes receiving Daffodil or any universally liked item, except if it’s any vegetable.
Her Spring schedule includes the Pelican Town’s fountain or taking photos by the river near Marnie’s Ranch.
Harvey
Harvey’s birthday is Winter 14, and his loved gifts are Coffee, Pickles, Super Meal, Truffle Oil, Wine, and all universal loves.
He also has a variety of liked gifts, including Spring and Fall foraging food, Goat Milk, and duck products like Duck Egg and Duck Feather.
Note that Harvey likes all fruits, barring Salmonberry and Spice Berry, which are part of his hated gifts.
Harvey attends the medical clinic in Pelican Town, so he mostly spends his time between the clinic and his room with occasional trips to Pierre’s General Store or Museum.
Jas
Jas is one of the few children living in Stardew Valley, and her birthday falls on Summer 4.
She loves Fairy Rose, Pink Cake, Plum Pudding, and all universally loved gifts.
Jas’ liked gifts include Coconut, Daffodil, and all universal likes except for Triple Shot Espresso, vegetables, and most artisanal goods.
She likes receiving Honey and Jelly, but the remaining are disliked or hated gifts.
Her regular schedule varies between jumping rope underneath the giant tree near Marnie’s Ranch or getting tutoring lessons by Penny at the Museum.
Jodi
According to her character description, Jodi’s birthday is on Fall 11.
She has several loved items you may gift her, including Chocolate Cake, Crispy Bass, Diamond, Eggplant Parmesan, Fried Eel, Pancakes, Rhubarb Pie, Vegetable Medley, and all universal loves.
For Jodi’s liked gifts, you may choose between all universal likes (except Garlic), all kinds of milk, all fruits barring the Spice Berry since that’s a hated gift, and all eggs except the Void Egg.
Her regular Fall schedule varies between Pierre’s General Store, her home, and JojaMart, if still open.
Kent
If you want to befriend Kent, you can gift him Roasted Hazelnuts, Fiddlehead Risotto, or any universally loved item.
Alternatively, you may give him any fruit, a Daffodil, or any egg, excluding the Void Egg as a liked item.
Kent arrives in Pelican Town in the Summer of Year 2, and his regular schedule revolves around staying at home or standing under the tree near the bridge to the beach.
Krobus
When first encountering Krobus, your character sheet updates to show his birthday: Winter 1.
Krobus’ loved gifts include Diamond, Iridium Bar, Pumpkin, Wild Horseradish, Void Egg, and Void Mayonnaise, alongside all universally loved gifts.
Another alternative is to gift him Quartz, Gold Bar, Seafoam Pudding, or Universal Likes, barring the Life Elixir and any other Cooking recipe.
You may always find Krobus in the sewers once you obtain the Rusty Key.
Leah
Leah’s birthday happens on Winter 23.
You can gift Goat Cheese, Poppyseed Muffin, Salad, Stir Fry, Truffle, Vegetable Medley, Wine, or any universally loved gift to Leah to get the maximum number of friendship points with Leah.
Alternatively, Leah’s liked gifts are foraging items from all seasons, eggs, fruits, and kinds of milk.
Leah’s list of universally liked gifts exceptions includes Carp Surprise, Cookie, Hashbrowns, Ice Cream, Pancakes, Pink Cake, Pizza, Rice Pudding, Survival Burger, Tortilla, gems, and foraged minerals.

According to his character description, Linus’ birthday happens in Winter 3. His loved gifts are Blueberry Tart, Cactus Fruit, Coconut, Dish O’ The Sea, Yam, and all universal loves.
Linus likes all foraged items, eggs, types of milk, fruits, and universal likes barring foraged minerals and gems.
During Winter, Linus will spend time between his tent and the Spa.
Leo
When you first meet Leo, his character description shows his birthday as Summer 26.
Leo loves receiving Mango, Ostrich Egg, Poi, Duck Feather, and all universal loves as gifts.
Leo’s liked gifts include Dragon Tooth, Mango Sticky Rice, Nautilus Shell, Quartz, Rainbow Shell, Sea Urchin, Spice Berry, and all universal likes barring alcoholic drinks, Bread, Fried Egg, and coffees.
Before his 6 hearts event, Leo spends his time around Ginger Island between the Island North, South, and his hut. Once living in mainland Stardew Valley, he spends his time around the playable area but may also visit Ginger Island.
Marnie
Manie celebrates her birthday on Fall 18.
Her loved gifts are Diamond, Farmer’s Lunch, Pink Cake, Pumpkin Pie, and all universal loves.
If none of these items are available for gifting, another option is giving Marnie any universal likes, eggs, any type of milk, or Quartz.
Most of the time, Marnie will attend her shop, run errands in Pelican Town, or visit The Stardrop Saloon during the evenings.
Maru
According to Pelican Town’s calendar, Maru’s birthday is on Summer 10.

Before you restore the bus service, Pam will work at JojaMart and spend her time at the saloon.

Penny
Penny’s birthday, according to her character description, is on Fall 2.
Penny’s favorite gifts in Stardew Valley are Diamond, Emerald, Melon, Poppy, Poppyseed Muffin, Red Plate, Roots Platter, Sandfish, and Tom Kha Soup.
Unlike most villagers, she hates Rabbit’s Foot but will react positively to the other universally loved items.

According to Pelican Town’s calendar, Pierre’s birthday is celebrated on Spring 26. He only loves Fried Calamari and all universal loves.
Another alternative is to gift him Daffodil, Dandelion, eggs, milk, or any universally liked gift, barring Corn, Garlic, any foraged minerals, gems, Parsnip Soup, or Tortilla.
Pierre’s regular schedule will have him attending his store or at home.
Robin
Robin celebrates her birthday on Fall 21.
She loves Goat Cheese, Peach, Spaghetti, and all universal loves. Robin also likes all milk, fruits, Hardwood, Quartz, and all universally liked items with no exceptions.
Her regular schedule, regardless of the season, has her attending her Carpenter Shop, roaming the Mountain Area, hanging out at the Community Center when repaired, or at The Stardrop Saloon.
Sam
When first interacting with Sam, his character description reveals that his birthday is Summer 17. Sam loves Cactus Fruit, Maple Bar, Pizza, Tigerseye, and all universally loved items.
Another gift alternative for Sam is all universal likes, barring Duck Mayonnaise, Mayonnaise, Pickles, and any vegetables he hates. You can also gift him any eggs or Joja Cola.
During his Summer schedule, he hangs out with Sebastian in his house, goes to the beach, or stays at home.
Sandi
Sandi’s birthday, according to the Pelican Town’s calendar after you first interact with her, is Fall 15.
She loves receiving Crocus, Daffodil, Mango Sticky Rice, Sweet Pea, and all universal loves. Sandi’s liked gifts include all fruits, both types of goat milk, Quartz, Wool, and all universally liked items.
Sandi will always be attending the Oasis shop at the Calico Desert.
Sebastian
Sebastian’s birthday is celebrated on Winter 10. Sebastian’s loved gifts include all universal loves, Frozen Tear, Obsidian, Pumpkin Soup, Sashimi, and Void Egg.
His liked gifts are Flounder, Quartz, and all universal likes barring Flowers and some meals like Complete Breakfast or Farmer’s Lunch, alongside most artisan goods.
His schedule switched between his room, the lake, the beach, and the Saloon during the Winter season.
Shane
Shane celebrates his birthday on Spring 20.
He loves receiving Beer, Hot Pepper, Pepper Poppers, Pizza, or any universally loved item as gifts.
Another alternative is to gift Shane any universally liked item barring Pickles, any eggs, or fruits.
Shane divides his regular schedule between working for JojaMart or the Saloon.
Vincent
According to his character description, Vincent celebrates his birthday on Spring 10.
Vincent loves receiving all universal loves, Cranberry Candy, Ginger Ale, Grape, Pink Cake, and Snail.
Alternatively, you may also gift him Coconut, Daffodil, or any universally liked gift except for Triple Shot Espresso, any vegetable or artisan goods that aren’t Honey or Jelly.
Vincent’s regular schedule in Spring has him between his home, being tutored by Penny at the museum, or playing in Pelican Town’s center.
Willy
Willy’s birthday is on Summer 24.
Willy loves receiving any of the following gifts: Catfish, Diamond, Iridium Bar, Mead, Octopus, Pumpkin, Sea Cucumber, Sturgeon, or any universally loved item.
Most of Willy’s liked gifts are fish recipes, barring Dish O’ The Sea, Maki Roll, and Sashimi which he’s neutral towards. He also likes Gold Bar, Quartz, Lingcod, Tiger Trout, and all universal likes.
The exception to the latter is the remaining cooking recipes that don’t include sea-related ingredients, which Willy dislikes or hates.
You may find Willy fishing around bodies of water, inside his house, or in the saloon.
Wizard
When first talking to the Wizard, his character description updates his birthday to Winter 17.
The wizard, also known as M. Rasmodius, loves Purple Mushroom, Solar Essence, Super Cucumber, Void Essence, and all universal loves as gifts.
Other gift alternatives are all universal likes, all geode minerals, and Quartz.
He will always be in the Wizard’s Tower between 6 AM and 11 PM.
