So, what does Secret Note 4 in Stardew Valley reveal?
What is Secret Note 4 in Stardew Valley?
The Secret Notes in Stardew Valley are a part of the “A Winter Mystery” quest that begins in the Winter of Year 1 with the first appearance of Krobus, who gives you a magnifying glass that he apparently took from somewhere on the farm.
There are 25 total Secret Notes, which can be found by clearing weeds, trees, stones, and resource clumps, picking up giant crops, fishing, or digging in Artifact spots.

Secret Note 4 is a written note rather than an image and reads:
“Parts still needed for my greatest invention yet!
Secret Note 4, Stardew Valley
Gold Bar
Iridium Bar
Battery Pack
Diamond
Strawberries”
Secret Note 4 Meaning
Though many fans originally thought that Secret Note 4 hinted at some secret item that could only be unlocked through gifting the listed items to Maru in order, this is not the case.
Instead, this note simply serves to list out items that Maru loves. This can be incredibly useful when courting Maru or if you need to get her friendship levels up for particular questlines, but it does not yield any special meaning beyond that.
What is Maru’s Invention from Secret Note 4?
If you level up your relationship with Maru to eight hearts, you do get to see the invention she mentions in the note.
In this cutscene, Maru shows off a new project she’s working on, which turns out to be a large machine.
When she asks you to interact with it, you get shocked, and she apologizes, applying burn cream.
From there, you can choose to either tell her it doesn’t hurt (which nets you +30 friendship) or tease her that it did hurt (-30 friendship).
