What characters are missing from the sets?
There are an incredible number of minifigures to help bring to life the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. There are however some characters missing, and some that fans would just like more of.
Battle-heavy sets such as Battle of Helm’s deep would benefit from a few more Orc minifigures thrown in, and major characters such as Samwise Gamgee and Frodo seem to appear fleetingly, and as part of smaller sets.
With the inclusion of the Cave Troll with the Mines of Moria set, it is clear that LEGO perceived the need for some larger-sized minifigures to benefit the developing brick scenes.
With this in mind, including giants, Mumakil’s and other creatures used in battles would really add to the overall aesthetic and realism of the sets.
LEGO LOTR fans can gain additional characters to their sets by purchasing some of The Hobbit sets, as the occasional character does cross over, however again many of these characters are film specific.
It would be equally exciting to see some of the Fellowship gain more costume changes, or simply appear more frequently in sets.
