When it comes to highly anticipated LEGO sets, one of the most eagerly awaited sets is the LEGO Star Wars advent calendar.
Luckily details have been shared by the official LEGO website, and we’re here to break it all down for you!
The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2022 is set number 75340, contains 329 pieces, and will be released on September 1st.
It will retail for $44.99 / £29.99, which is just over 13 cents / 9p per brick. That is pretty much in line with what you would expect to pay for a set like this.
As usual, this calendar will feature 24 separate doors, behind which are various small LEGO builds, and unique Minifigures.
So let’s start with the Minifigures!

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2022 Minifigures!

This Star Wars advent calendar will contain 8 different Minifigures.
We’re going to start with the summer Darth Vader Minifigure.
The iconic Sith Lord has ditched the cape and is instead wearing a stylish red vest with a summery print on it.
He is more than likely in there to help promote the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation special that begins streaming on Disney+ in August.
We’re going to be getting C-3PO and R2-D2 in Christmas sweaters.
C-3POs is an icy blue and sports a festive design of his droid counterpart. Similarly, R2-D2 has a cozy red sweater that similarly featured a festive design of his golden best friend.
Sticking to the droid theme, there is also a Santa Claus Gonk droid in the set too.
Gonk droids have had quite a resurgence in popularity. This is because they were so prominently (and hilariously) featured in the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga game.
We guess that LEGO is just riding that wave and keeping that joke going.
There is obviously an Imperial Snowtrooper in there, as well as Luke Skywalker in his Hoth gear. Both these outfits can be seen in The Empire Strikes Back.
These two Minifigures make a lot of sense, and we’d honestly have been disappointed if we didn’t get something like this!
You can pick these up in a multitude of sets, but it’s nice that they were included here.
Similarly, this calendar includes a Clone Trooper Commander and a B1 battle droid.
While they might not be the most Christmassy of choices, the love for The Clone Wars is evergreen, so they are appreciated.
Also, LEGO fans do love to army build! Being able to add more clones and droids to your ranks can only be a good thing!
Overall Minifigure thoughts
One thing we will mention though is that this calendar set only includes 8 Minifigures, whereas the 2021 LEGO Star Wars calendar included 10.
It’s a slight drop, but it could be a dealbreaker for those that pick up this set primarily for the Minifigures.
Anyway, let’s take a look at what micro builds we’re going to be getting in this set.
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2022 Micro Builds

There are some really fun and interesting micro builds included in the Star Wars advent calendar this year, with a mixture of content from the Prequel and Original trilogies.
Lets run through everything included in the above image (minus the Minifigures – we’ve already talked about those!)
Starting at the top and going across, we get a Hoth style AT-ST Walker, a T-16 Skyhopper, a Republic Gunship, The Marauder (the ship used by The Bad Batch), a B-Wing, and an Ice Cave (that you can use to hang the Luke Skywalker Minifigure upside down in!)
The second row consists of part of a cave, a Battle of Hoth laser turret, Darth Vader’s sandcastle (that is shaped to look like his castle on Mustafar), and a TIE-Interceptor.
Moving down we have Luke Skywalkers X-34 landspeeder, a V-35 landspeeder, a droid tri-fighter, and an Acclamator-class assault ship.
And finally, on the bottom row, there is another (different) Bottle of Hoth laser turret, and a moisture evaporator.
Overall micro build thoughts
These micro builds are simple to put together, and – as with all LEGO calendars, the instructions will come on the back of the door.
While they might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there is definitely a decent offering, with some really interesting and exciting choices.
For example, it’s rare that LEGO shows any love for the B-wing starfighter or the Hoth-style AT-ST, so the inclusion of those two, in particular, is something to be excited about.
What’s missing?
LEGO-wise, not too much! Though there is a distinct lack of anything from the Sequel Trilogy.
They maybe could have included a Summer Kylo Ren Minifigure or maybe BB-8 painted like a beach ball.
Also, we’re surprised to see a lack of stuff from the TV shows. They have a lot of stuff they could use from The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and even the upcoming Andor, so it’s strange that there’s nothing related to those shows in there.
Still, these are only nitpicky things, and you’re not going to hear many complaints about the stuff they did choose to include.

Final Thoughts

Overall though, we’d say that this is a pretty strong LEGO Star Wars set.
The selection of Minifigures is strong. The unique ones are fantastic, and the reused ones make sense.
The micro builds are interesting enough to not feel like ‘filler’ items, and there are some fun choices in there.
LEGO Star Wars very rarely disappoints when it comes to their calendars. Once again, they’re giving us something that lovers of LEGO, Star Wars, and LEGO Star Wars will love!
