LEGO City 2023 Sets Speculation: Rumors and Predictions (September 2022)

LEGO City 2023 Sets Speculation: Rumors and Predictions (September 2022)

In 1978, LEGO launched its first LEGO City-themed sets (also known as The Town). LEGO has continued expanding the City theme with multiple set releases branching into countless sub-themes every year.

There are already rumors of what to expect from the theme in 2023.

In late August 2023, Brickmerge uploaded 24 LEGO City sets to their sales website.

These sale lots provided some critical information about what to expect from LEGO City in the first part of 2023.

BrickFanatics reported on this update on August 25th 2022. They noted that Brickmerge is ‘typically reliable’ regarding new set information. Even if that information starts out as a rumor or speculation, it has later proven true.

Of course, all rumors about potential LEGO City 2023 sets are simply speculation until any official confirmation.

Fans will probably not hear confirmation about the 2023 releases until September 2022. At least, based on when the 2022 winter wave of LEGO City sets was announced in 2021.

Although, there have been a few confirmations of potential 2023 sets already.

In June 2022, LEGO’s new LEGO City-themed promotional set was confirmed by LEGO.

The LEGO City 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue set is to be available as an in-store promotion from February 10th, 2023.

There have also been a handful of sets tagged LEGO City, uploaded to the LEGO Building Instructions Portal database.

With such a mixed bag of information and rumors circling the LEGO City 2023 sets, it can be challenging to keep ahead of the game.

LEGO City 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue

LEGO City 40582 2x2 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue
LEGO City 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue

In June 2022, LEGO uploaded a new promotional set to their Building Instructions Portal database (now hidden).

The set was listed as the LEGO 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue.

BrickClicker on Youtube covered the LEGO City 4×4 Ambulance set in a video uploaded in June 2022 with the rumor that it belongs to the LEGO City theme, which makes sense given the subject of the set.

The set is a promotional offer beginning on February 10th, 2023. It will be available for roughly two weeks.

Such a random release date is typical of a promotional set gifted in stores along with a large purchase, which BrickClicker points out.

The previously listed piece count of the set was 162 pieces with 2-3 Minifigures potentially included.

If it is not to be a gifted promotional set, the 4X4 ambulance will most likely have a price of around $10. At least, based on previous and current promotions of a similar size.

Be sure to keep an eye out for this exclusive set come February. Promotional sets can be hard to find once the offer ends.

Theme Continuation

In 2021, Matthew Ashton (the Vice President of Design at LEGO) teased LEGO fans with news about potential 2023 LEGO themes.

During a Q and A on his personal Instagram, Ashton confirmed 10 set themes that LEGO will continue pursuing in 2023 set releases. Amongst these themes was LEGO City.

Unfortunately, Ashton did not offer insight into any sets that could be released under the LEGO City theme in 2023.

However, the confirmation that LEGO has been working on new City sets means that there will be plenty more sets to look forward to in 2023, other than what is rumored so far.

LEGO City 60356 Stunt Motorbike

LEGO City 60356 was amongst a couple of unnamed sets to be logged into the LEGO Building Instructions Portal database (now hidden) in April 2022. The addition was confirmed by a few quick-thinking LEGO fans on the Eurobricks forum.

It wasn’t until Brickmerger uploaded their own rumored 2023 set list in August 2022 that LEGO 60365’s full set name was revealed. The set is now predicted to be called LEGO City 60356 Stunt Motorbike.

The LEGO City Stunt Motorbike is not listed as part of the recently launched Stuntz theme. Stuntz is a sub-theme of LEGO City that started in October 2021.

However, the set is thought to retail at $7.99 upon release. This is the same retail price as other single Stuntz motorbike sets.

It seems more likely that Brickmerger’s exclusion of LEGO 60356 from the Stuntz collection is a translation mistake rather than a purposeful report.

LEGO City 60356 Stunt Motorbike is currently rumored to be released in January 2023. Fans will likely see the set on shelves on January 1st 2023.

Based on the price of the set, it will be similar to other recently released Stuntz bikes.

LEGO City Stuntz 60296 Wheelie Stunt Bike also retailed at $7.99. As such, it can provide a good comparison of what to expect from the 2023 set.

LEGO City Stuntz 60296 Wheelie Stunt Bike 2022
LEGO City Stuntz 60296 Wheelie Stunt Bike 2022

In total, the Wheelie Stunt Bike itself was made of 14 pieces. A unique minifigure was also included with a punkish design that matched the bike’s theme.

The minifigure came with her own accessories, such as a bright green helmet and purple goggles.

Though the 2023 Stunt Motorbike’s theme is unclear, it will probably be a similar size. It will likely include a minifigure with a couple of unique accessories, too.

LEGO City 60357 Stunt Truck and Fire Tire Challenge

The LEGO City Stuntz sub-theme can be split into 2 primary set types. These are themed motorbikes (like the one above) and stunt challenges.

Rumors suggest that one of LEGO’s 2023 City sets will combine the Stuntz and Fire sub-themes in a new stunt challenge.

LEGO 60357 Stunt Truck and Fire Tire Challenge is thought to cost $49.99 at retail. This makes it the second most expensive Stuntz set in the 2023 release lineup so far.

The higher price tag will likely come with some great features in the set itself.

There has already been a fire-themed Stuntz set. The LEGO City 60311 Fire Stunt Bike was released in January 2022. However, it had a very short shelf life, retiring at the end of July 2022.

The new Stunz fire challenge could build upon the general theme and vibe of the 2022 stunt bike.

Or the set could just be another themed challenge. This would be disappointing as most of the Stuntz challenge sets already include plenty of fire details.

LEGO would have to make the main features of the Stuntz fire challenge set quite impressive to avoid a lazily designed set.

Unlike the individual motorbike sets that are rumored for 2023, LEGO 60357 is rumored to be released in March 2023.

Presumably, this staggered release has been done to keep fans eager for bigger sets later in the year.

After all, the Stuntz theme is still a newish theme. Releasing all of the sets in one big wave would make fans lose interest quickly.

LEGO City 60358 Cyber Stunt Bike

Another set that is rumored to be similar to LEGO City 60356 Stunt Motorbike is the LEGO City 60358 Cyber Stunt Bike.

It is thought to cost $7.99 and is predicted to be released in January 2023.

Judging from the price alone, the size and contents of the LEGO 60358 Cyber Stunt Bike will not differ drastically from other LEGO Stuntz bikes.

However, LEGO 60358 Cyber Stunt Bike is set apart from the only other rumored 2023 Stunz bike because it already has an associated theme. The set will follow a cool, futuristic cyber theme as per its name.

In January 2021, LEGO released another cyber-themed set as part of its LEGO Creator theme.

LEGO Creator 31111 Cyber Drone may have been in a different LEGO theme entirely, but the set can indicate the potential color scheme of LEGO City 60358 Cyber Stunt Bike.

LEGO Creator 31111 Cyber Drone 2021
LEGO Creator 31111 Cyber Drone 2021

The main colors used were black and sand blue with bright orange highlights. Such a color palette would fit perfectly with other LEGO City Stuntz sets.

LEGO City 60359 Stunt Ramp with Dunk Challenge

The second LEGO City Stuntz challenge set rumored to be released in March 2023 is LEGO City 60359 Stunt Ramp with Dunk Challenge.

Compared to the Stuntz Fire Tire Challenge, this challenge set is considerably cheaper at $19.99.

Of course, a lower price will ultimately result in a smaller set with fewer features and pieces.

It is difficult to predict what to expect from the set’s contents as this will be the first Stuntz challenge set retailing at $19.99.

The closest set in price is LEGO City 60299 Stunt Competition, selling for $29.99 in October 2021. It included 2 stunt motorbikes and 2 minifigures with accessories, a ring of fire, and a bright orange mini ramp.

LEGO City 60299 Stunt Competition 2021
LEGO City 60299 Stunt Competition 2021

As a ramp seems to be one of the main features in the LEGO 60359 Stunt Ramp set, fans can assume that the included ramp will be full-sized instead of mini. This may result in fewer extra features in the set to fit the lower price.

LEGO City 60360 + 60361 Stuntz Challenge

2 more Stuntz challenge sets are also rumored to be released in March 2023. But these sets are without a full set name, leaving fans to speculate what LEGO City 60360 and 60361 Stuntz Challenge could be.

The sets are thought to retail at different price points.

LEGO 60360 is rumored to cost $34.99. LEGO 60361 has the most expensive price point of any 2023 Stuntz set at $89.99.

Admittedly, this isn’t the most expensive set in the LEGO City Stuntz sub-theme. That title belongs to LEGO City 60339 Double Loop Stunt Arena, which was released on June 1st 2022.

However, it is quite a jump in price from the other 2023 sets.

Another Stuntz challenge set costing around the same amount as LEGO 60361 was LEGO City 60295 Stunt Show Arena.

The set consisted of 7 unique minifigures and 668 pieces. A lot was going on in the set, with a large ramp, 2 monster trucks, a stunt bike, and a ring of fire.

It is possible that LEGO City 60361 Stuntz Challenge could be just as full of fun features.

As for LEGO City 60360 Stuntz Challenge, its $34.99 retail cost is very similar to LEGO City 60293 Stunt Park, which was $39.99 in October 2021.

Unlike other Stuntz challenge sets, the Stunt Park focused more on buildable features than minifigures. It consisted of 2 unique minifigures, and 3 small daredevil stunt builds.

LEGO City 60360 is likely to be similar to the Stunt Park set. Though perhaps with only 1 minifigure or fewer buildable features.

LEGO City 60369 Mobile Police Dog Training

The first of only 4 rumored LEGO City Police sets for 2023 is LEGO City 60369 Mobile Police Dog Training.

This is thought to be released in January 2023. It’s reasonable $19.99 retail price makes it the cheapest police-themed set in the 2023 LEGO City lineup so far.

Such a price point is unsurprising for the set’s theme – a mobile training unit.

The main build of the set will most likely be a small-ish police vehicle. It will probably include 1 minifigure and at least 1 police dog.

A similar set was released in January 2020.

LEGO City 60241 Police Dog Unit depicted a police dog and officer catching a robber stealing priceless jewels in 67 pieces. The set retailed for $9.99.

LEGO City 60241 Police Dog Unit 2020
LEGO City 60241 Police Dog Unit 2020

With those 67 pieces, the set included 2 minifigures, 1 police dog, and 3 accessories. Though the main focus was on the small police truck.

Fans can expect the 2023 LEGO City 60369 Police Dog Training to be very similar to previous smaller police dog sets. But perhaps with a few extra police dog minifigures.

LEGO City 60370 Police Station Breakout

This year (January 2022), LEGO released an updated LEGO City 60316 Police Station, as they tend to do every few years.

LEGO City 60316 Police Station 2022
LEGO City 60316 Police Station 2022

Releasing a whole new police station only 12 months after a previous station was released seems like an uncharacteristically bad decision on LEGO’s part.

This is why LEGO fans like Classic_Spaceman on EuroBricks think the 2023 LEGO City 60370 Police Station Breakout will not be a new police station.

Instead, it may build upon the 2022 police station as an attachable add-on set.

Creating a series of attachable stations or buildings is not something that LEGO has done before with LEGO City sets.

At an estimated $34.99, LEGO City 60371 is likely to be a reasonably sized set.

To stand out from the 2022 Police Station and prevent boring repetition, the 2023 set must have an exciting build.

This won’t be particularly hard to do. At best, the 2022 Police Station lacked creativity with a tiny jail, parking space, and a small helicopter pad.

‘Police Station Breakout’ suggests that the 2023 station’s main building will be a bigger jail and perhaps a getaway car.

Classic_Spaceman suggests a watch tower thrown into the mix, too.

At a $34.99 retail price, fans can expect 1 or 2 minifigures included in LEGO City 60370 Police Station Breakout. The most obvious character choices being a police officer and an inmate/ crook.

LEGO City 60371 Emergency Vehicle Headquarters

Out of all of the police-themed LEGO City sets rumored for 2023, LEGO City 60371 Emergency Vehicle Headquarters is the most anticipated.

We know the set is a police set based on its set number.

It falls between LEGO City 60370 Police Station Breakout and LEGO City 60372 Police Academy.

However, the general use of ‘Emergency Vehicles’ means that the set will likely include more than just 1 or 2 police cars.

Perhaps fans will see a few police bikes, a helicopter, or even an ambulance included in the set.

At the estimated retail price of $64.99, there is enough wiggle room economically for various vehicles to be included in the set.

That being said, the use of ‘Headquarters’ in the set’s title emphasizes the building itself rather than the emergency vehicles.

A keen-eyed fan named Rune Haako posted a US Amazon link into the LEGO City 2023 Eurobricks forum on September 10th 2022.

The link (now hidden) was to a US Amazon listing for LEGO City 60371 Emergency Vehicle Headquarters.

Powered by Bricks, another Eurobricks poster, quickly gathered all the information the listing shared about the set.

If Amazon has already uploaded a listing for the set, Brickmerger’s rumors that LEGO City 60371 will be released in January 2023 seem very likely.

The listing confirmed that LEGO City 60371 is part of the LEGO City Police subtheme.

Unfortunately, the Amazon listing detailed the set as only having 706 pieces. This suggests that the set will focus more on vehicles than the headquarters building itself.

This is a little disappointing considering how vehicle-focused the LEGO City Police sub-theme has recently been.

But the set could still surprise fans and turn things around.

LEGO City 60372 Police Academy

The final larger LEGO City Police set rumored for 2023 is LEGO City 60372 Police Academy, thought to be also released in January 2023.

At $89.99, this set is rumored to be one of the most expensive sets of the whole LEGO City 2023 line-up.

An Amazon US listing (now hidden) spotted by Rune Haako details LEGO City 60372 Police Academy as having 823 pieces.

For Poodabricks, such a piece counts suggests a notable police academy building.

Though at $89.99, there are likely to also be a few mini builds to go along with the set. Poodabricks thinks a practice police car may be one of the mini builds.

Poodabricks also hints at potential new minifigures included with the set. Specifically, a new torso piece for the rookie police minifigures will undoubtedly be part of the set.

The only previous LEGO City Police set to have cost $89.99 was 2008’s LEGO City 7744 Police Headquarters. At 953 pieces, the set included 7 minifigures, 5 of which were new and unique to the set.

So, Poodabricks may be very close with their speculation about LEGO City 60372 Police Academy.

LEGO City 60373 Fire Boat

The first of the LEGO City Fire sub-theme sets rumored for January 2023 is the LEGO City 60373 Fire Boat.

LEGO has previously branched into sea-orientated Fire sub-theme sets with the 2019 LEGO City 60213 Dock Side Fire set.

LEGO City 60213 Dock Side Fire 2019
LEGO City 60213 Dock Side Fire 2019

Like the 2023 Fire Boast, the 2019 Dock Side set was priced at $19.99. It is the perfect set to look at when speculating what LEGO City 60373 Fire Boat could consist of.

LEGO 60213 Dock Side Fire was a 97 piece set with 2 minifigures.

There were 2 main builds in the set: a miniature harbor docking site and a separate small fire speed boat with an adjustable fire hose at the front.

Considering LEGO 60373 Fire Boat emphasizes the boat aspect, it can be assumed that the set will be one build of a bigger but similar fire boat.

It would be peculiar for the set to have no minifigures. 1 firefighter minifigure to man the fire boat seems to be the most likely option.

LEGO City 60374 Fire Brigade Command Vehicle

The most expensive LEGO City Fire set rumored for release in January 2023 is LEGO City 60374 Fire Brigade Command Vehicle.

This will be the second set since 2021 that has fallen under ‘fire command’.

In 2021, LEGO City 60282 Fire Command Unit was released.

The set was mainly marketed towards children as a 5 years + set. It was also tied into the LEGO City Adventures TV Series rather than the overarching LEGO City theme.

As such, though the cherry picker fire vehicle included in the set was reasonably large, it was a very basic build.

All in all, there were 380 pieces in the set. The set retailed for $54.99

LEGO City 60374 Fire Brigade Command Vehicle is rumored to also retail at $54.99.

However, its premature US Amazon listing in early September 2022 said the set will be 502 pieces. This is a whole 122 pieces bigger than the 2021 fire command set.

The key use of ‘Vehicle’ in the 2023’s set name heavily suggests that the set’s main (and perhaps only) build will be the fire vehicle itself.

With so many more pieces, it is likely that the new fire vehicle will vastly improve upon the child-orientated build in 2021.

In terms of design, fans can look to the fire truck vehicle in 2022’s LEGO City 60321 Fire Brigade to see what to expect from the 2023 set.

LEGO City 60321 Fire Brigade 2022
LEGO City 60321 Fire Brigade 2022

‘Fire Brigade’ also suggests that the fire vehicle will be kitted out with plenty of fireman accessories. Or that the set will include a whole fire bridge of minifigures.

LEGO City 60282 Fire Command unit included 4 unique minifigures. Fans can expect just as many, if not more, in the 2023 reiteration.

LEGO City 60375 Fire Station and Fire Truck

It would be odd for LEGO to release 2 large fire truck builds in the same release wave. Or for LEGO to release a completely revamped fire station when they have only just released LEGO City 60320 Fire Station in January 2022.

However, a LEGO City 60375 Fire Station and Fire Truck set is rumored for January 2023.

The fact that the set is thought to only cost $34.99 and include 2 main builds suggests that the fire truck will be much smaller in LEGO City 60375 Fire Station and Fire Truck than the rumored LEGO City 60374 Fire Brigade Command Vehicle.

Fans can expect a compromise on both the scale and detail of the fire station and truck to accommodate the fire truck and the fire station. But that isn’t to say that the build will be bad.

It may be that the fire station in LEGO City 60375 will be more of a garage, just big enough for the included fire truck.

Better still if that garage is detachable and can build upon the disappointingly small fire station in the 2022 set.

Until more information becomes available, it is difficult to speculate what new features for LEGO City 60375 Fire Station and Fire Truck can contribute to the recent LEGO City Fire range.

LEGO City 60382 Animal Rescue Truck

Compared to other sub-themes in the LEGO City range, animals are often overlooked or completely ignored.

notpennysboat rounded up all of the animals included in LEGO City sets since 2017. The list really highlights how few animals have been adapted into LEGO form over the years.

However, the rumored LEGO City 60382 Animal Rescue Truck leaves fans hoping 2023 could be a good year for LEGO City animals.

The set is only rumored to be a $9.99 set when it is released in January 2023, so it will not be an elaborate set. Though the presumably main build of the truck itself should have plenty of detail.

In June 2021, LEGO released a Wildlife Rescue range under the LEGO City central theme.

Several vehicles were included in the 5 set range, including a hovercraft and an off-roader. But the range was missing a dedicated truck set.

Despite LEGO City 60382 Animal Rescue Truck not rumored to be a Wildlife Rescue set explicitly, it may be an expansion of the 2021 range.

LEGO doesn’t usually build on their animal LEGO City ranges in the same way as other sub-themes once the initial range has been released.

That is not to say that an expansion of the Wildlife Rescue range would be met with negativity. Especially if the 2023 set includes a couple of new animal figures.

LEGO City 60383 Electric Sports Car

The rumored LEGO City 60383 Electric Sports Car is expected to retail at $9.99 when it releases in January 2023.

There is yet to be a specific sub-theme associated with the set. However, fans have begun to speculate what sub-theme the set could belong to based on previous LEGO City car sets of a similar price.

Fans think that LEGO 60383 Electric Sports Car will be the first of several 2023 sets to revive the LEGO City Great Vehicle range, which hasn’t had a set released since 2019.

LEGO City Great Vehicles is full of $9.99 vehicle sets, depicting a creative range of vehicles. From a light repair truck to a race car.

LEGO City 60053 Race Car 2014
LEGO City 60053 Race Car 2014

The size of the sets typically ranges from 80 – 100 pieces. They also tend to include 1 minifigure, usually exclusive to the set, with 1 or 2 accessories.

LEGO City 60383 Electric Sports Car is likely to be similar to these sets, themed around (unsurprisingly) an electric sports car.

LEGO City 60384 Ice Cream Slush Truck

A slightly more expensive set rumored for the LEGO City Great Vehicles is LEGO City 60384 Ice Cream Slush Truck, which already sounds like a set full of fun.

The set is thought to cost $19.99 when released in January 2023.

Previous LEGO City Great Vehicles sets in this price range usually have around 170 – 250 pieces and vary in build innovation greatly.

Such a wide variety of pieces means it can be hard to speculate just how large or detail-oriented the 2023 LEGO City 60384 Ice Cream Slush Truck will be.

However, there has already been one food-themed Great Vehicles set. Fans can look to the 2019 LEGO City 60150 Pizza Van to get an idea of what the 2023 Ice Cream Slush Truck may look like.

LEGO City 60150 Pizza Van 2016
LEGO City 60150 Pizza Van 2016

The first main difference is the use of ‘Truck’ and ‘Van’ in the set’s names.

‘Truck’ suggests that LEGO 60384 Ice Cream Slush Truck will include a bulkier, slightly larger vehicle build compared to LEGO 60150 Pizza Van’s van.

This may mean fewer mini builds in the 2023 set, with the pieces used for the main vehicle instead.

Likely, LEGO City 60384 Ice Cream Slush Truck will include 2 minifigures like LEGO City 60150 Pizza Van; 1 to work the truck and another to play the customer.

LEGO City 60385 Wheel Loader

The second supposed Great Vehicles set rumored to retail in January 2023 for $19.99 is LEGO City 60385 Wheel Loader.

This would not be the first construction-type vehicle incorporated into LEGO City Great Vehicles at such a price range. But it will make a great addition alongside the 2013 LEGO City 60018 Cement Mixer and 2012 LEGO City 4434 Dump Truck.

LEGO City 4434 Dump Truck 2012
LEGO City 4434 Dump Truck 2012

The cement mixer and the dump truck have some kind of movable element to the vehicle itself – a rotating mixer and a liftable truck bed, respectively.

A similar element can be expected for LEGO City 60385 Wheel Loader.

Most likely, the wheel loader’s scoop will be able to move up and down. This doesn’t sound particularly exciting, but the result could be quite effective.

LEGO City 60386 Garbage Disposal

Since 2013, there have been 3 garbage trucks added to LEGO City Great Vehicles.

They have all been marketed at $19.99. However, the sets have varied in size, from 90 pieces to 248 pieces.

LEGO City 60386 Garbage Disposal is rumored to be the latest garbage addition to the LEGO City Great Vehicles sub-theme. It is rumored for a January 2023 release date.

But fans think this new set will be much larger compared to previous garbage trucks. At a rumored $34.99, it will be the most expensive Grand Vehicles set to date.

Of course, there is the chance that the 2023 Garbage Disposal will belong to a different sub-theme completely.

Perhaps LEGO City Traffic, which has been an ongoing LEGO City sub-theme since 2007.

Considering that LEGO City Traffic has only ever had 1 garbage truck, a whole garbage disposal set would be a great addition. Especially because that one set was a small polybag of 48 pieces.

The largest set that LEGO has released under the Great Vehicles set so far was LEGO City 60223 Harvester Transport, released in January 2019.

LEGO City 60223 Harvester Transport 2019
LEGO City 60223 Harvester Transport 2019

At 358 pieces, the 2019 set was technically 2 vehicle builds – a flatbed transport truck and the harvester itself. It retailed for $29.99.

Note the use of ‘Disposal’ instead of ‘Truck’ in the rumored LEGO City 60386 Garbage Disposal. A garbage truck may be one of 2 bigger builds included in the set. In a similar way to LEGO City 60223 Harvester Transport but on a slightly bigger scale.

Perhaps the truck will also come with a trash compactor build, or incinerator mini builds and a couple of minifigures.

LEGO City 60387 Off-Road Adventure

There has only been 1 other adventure type of vehicle included in LEGO City Great Vehicles. LEGO City 60240 Kayak Adventure was released in 2019.

Compared to the rumored 2023 LEGO City 60387 Off-Road Adventure, the 2019 set retailed for $9.99. Because of the price, the set was fairly simplistic but effective.

LEGO City 60387 Off-Road Adventure is rumored to cost $29.99 in January 2023.

There have been 6 other off-road vehicle sets included elsewhere in the LEGO City range that can offer more insight into the 2023 off-roader.

For example, LEGO City 60267 Safari Off-Roader, which was released in 2020 under LEGO City Traffic.

The set included a sturdy off-road jeep that was kitted out for a safari adventure, from camouflage to a removable roof rack and even a wearable tree outfit for 1 of the 2 minifigures.

Depending on which sub-theme LEGO City 60387 Off-Road Adventure is released under, the set could be more focused on the vehicle itself or the feel of the set as a whole.

LEGO City 60388 Gaming Tournament Truck

The rumored 2023 LEGO City set causing the most hype amongst fans is LEGO City 60388 Gaming Tournament Truck.

In a previous report by BrickFanatics, they said that there has been no other LEGO sets that has a connection to a potential Gaming Tournament Truck set. Which was true until very recently.

As part of their 2022 summer release wave, LEGO released LEGO City 60313 Space Ride Amusement Truck under the LEGO City Traffic range.

The set was full of imagination, depicting the kind of ride set up you would usually find at a moving carnival. Set on the back of a flat back truck, the ride was fully operational and could fold away neatly.

To set the scene, a few mini builds were included in the set and 3 minifigures. These were 1 child minifigure 1 parent minifigure and an amusement ride worker.

Judging from the name alone, it looks likely that LEGO City 60388 Gaming Tournament Truck will follow a very similar setup as the 2022 set. Though more themed around games than an amusement ride.

The 2023 set is rumored to be a little cheaper when it releases in January 2023 than the 2022 set at $44.99 rather than $49.99.

This suggests that the set will be very slightly smaller. It will presumably have fewer pieces than the 433 piece LEGO 60313 Space Ride Amusement Truck.

Such a trivial price decrease shouldn’t reflect negatively on the set. The pinch will probably be seen in the number of minifigures included in the set, not the main build itself.

LEGO City 60389 Auto Repair Shop

Unlike LEGO City Great Vehicles, LEGO City Traffic is not only focused on the vehicles of the set but also any buildings or mini builds that may be associated with the general transport life of an actual city.

That is why it seems more likely that LEGO City 60389 Auto Repair Shop will release under LEGO City Traffic in January 2023 rather than LEGO City Great Vehicles.

At a rumored $49.99, LEGO 60389 Auto Repair Shop will be the cheapest LEGO City Traffic building-type set since the sub-theme launched in 2007. (Bar the LEGO City 60313 Space Ride Amusement Truck, launched this year).

Still, if previous LEGO City Traffic building sets are anything to go by, LEGO City 60389 Auto Repair Shop will be full of details and interactive features.

There has been a garage-type set released under LEGO City Traffic before. This was not only a much more expensive set ($99.99) but was also released way back in 2009.

LEGO City 7642 Garage 2009
LEGO City 7642 Garage 2009

The 2023 set will likely be based around a mechanic shop for motorbikes and cars.

Like 2009’s LEGO City 7642 Garage, the 2023 scaled-back build will presumably include a few vehicle builds, too.

LEGO City 60390 Compact Tractor

3 smaller general LEGO City sets are also rumored for release in January 2023. The first is LEGO City 60390 Compact Tractor, which is thought to retail at $9.99.

For those who don’t know, a compact tractor is essentially a mini tractor. They can come with digging arms or be used to pull trailers.

This vehicle fits perfectly into LEGO City’s range or various small sets.

In terms of style, LEGO City 60390 Compact Tractor will likely be similar to 2019’s LEGO City 60219 Construction Loader simply because the vehicles themselves look very alike.

LEGO City 60219 Construction Loader 2019

Of course, there will be some changes to better fit the overall look of the compact tractor. But a set size of around 88 pieces like the 2019 set seems most probable.

As with most $9.99 LEGO City sets, there will presumably be 1 minifigure alongside the Compact Tractor and 1 mini build to help set the scene.

This minifigure may be unique to the set, though this is not always guaranteed.

LEGO City 60392 Police Motorbike Pursuit

The second $9.99 LEGO City set rumored to be released in January 2023 is LEGO City 60392 Police Motorbike Pursuit.

Considering that LEGO City Police is one of LEGO’s biggest City sub-themes, it is no surprise that there have been multiple pursuit sets before, spanning across all 5 police sub-themes.

This isn’t even the first LEGO City Police pursuit set to include a police motorbike. That award goes to LEGO City 60041 Crook Pursuit in 2014.

However, the 2014 set was not only smaller than the rumored 2023 Police Motorbike Pursuit at $6.99. It is also now outdated compared to the rest of LEGO City’s Police style.

The most recent LEGO City Police bike can be seen in LEGO City 60276 Police Prisoner Transport in 2021

Presumably, LEGO City 60392 Police Motorbike Pursuit will simply be an upgraded version of the 2014 LEGO City 60041 Crook Pursuit to include the new police bikes.

LEGO City 60393 Fire Truck

The last LEGO City set that is rumored so far is LEGO City 60393 Fire Truck, thought to be released in January 2023 for $9.99.

Like LEGO’s City Police sub-theme, LEGO City Fire has been a long-time sub-theme full of various fire vehicle variations.

All in all, there have been 7 fire truck sets under the Fire sub-theme. However, there has never been a $9.99 Fire Truck.

The cheapest fire truck was the LEGO City 7891 Airport Fire Truck, released under the LEGO City Airport sub-theme in 2006. It retailed for $14.99.

In fact, the most recent stand-alone fire truck set was LEGO City 60002 Fire Truck, released way back in 2013, so there is undoubtedly a need for an updated fire truck set.

Given the price of LEGO City 60393 Fire Truck, it will probably not exceed 120 pieces. But that is enough for an updated fire truck set to match the most recent LEGO City Fire Sets.
