Sadness (Inside Out)

Sadness is one of the emotions of Riley Anderson that lives in her main operating system.

The other emotions, especially Joy, find Sadness frustrating and do their best not to let her make Riley sad.

But, over the course of the film, they realize that sadness is an important emotion that Riley needs to grow as a person and move forward.

Sally (Cars)

Sally Carrera is a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera that lives in Radiator Springs and operates the Cozy Cone Motel.

She moved to Radiator Springs after a life as a California lawyer.

When Lightning McQueen arrives, he quickly develops a crush on the sassy car.

Samson (Sleeping Beauty)

Samson is Prince Philip’s horse and is almost always at his side.

He was with Philip when he first heard Aurora, living as Briar Rose, singing.

Samson did not want to change course to follow the sound, but Philip promised him an extra bag of oats.

He is later kidnapped along with Philip by Maleficent, and Samson then races Philip to the castle following their escape so that he can save Aurora.

Sarabi (The Lion King)

Sarabi the lioness is the wife of Mufasa and the mother of Simba.

She is devastated when her husband is killed, and her son is presumed dead.

While Simba is away, she stands up to Scar as the new king.

When her son returns, she joins him in the battle to take down the tyrant.

Sarafina (The Lion King)

Sarafina is the mother of Nala. She is friends with Sarabi, Simba’s mother, and the two raised their children together until Simba was lost.

She is deeply saddened by the death of Mufasa and horrified with the new king Scar lets hyenas into the Pride Lands.

Aunt Sarah (Lady and the Tramp)

Aunt Sarah is Jim Dear’s aunt, and when he and his wife go away, she is put in charge of their son Jim Jr and their dog Lady.

She takes an immediate dislike to Lady and prevents her from being close to Jim Jr.

Aunt Sarah later tries to muzzle Lady, which causes her to run away from the house.

When Lady returns to the house with Tramp, Aunt Sarah locks them both up again, not realizing that Tramp made a commotion in Jim Jr’s room to protect the baby from a rat.

Sarge (Cars)

Sarge is a khaki green army jeep from the WWII era.

Now a veteran, he runs a government surplus store in Radiator Springs.

He also starts an SUV boot camp to introduce his tough army training to soft city cars.

Scar (The Lion King)

Scar is the lion brother of Mufasa, the king of the Pride Lands.

He is bitter and jealous of his brother’s position and the love he enjoys in the community.

Scar plots to kill both Mufasa and his son Simba so that he can become king of the Pride Lands.

But while Mufasa is killed, his hyena henchmen fail to kill Simba, but lie and say that he is dead.

After a number of years of misruling the Pride Lands, Simba returns to face his uncle.

Scat Cat (The Aristocats)

Scat Cat lives at Thomas O’Malley’s penthouse and plays jazz with his band of Alley Cats.

He plays for Duchess and her kittens, who join in with their musical talent.

Later, when Edgar threatens Duchess again, Scat Cat and his crew rush to her side to help.

Scroop (Treasure Planet)

Scroop is one of the alien crew on the ship heading to Treasure Planet. He is the leader of the mutiny that occurs.

He harasses Silver to hurry up with the mutiny, using the pirate’s affection for young Jim Hawkins against him.

When the mutiny finally kicks off, he relishes the violence and tries to kill Jim. But he is the one who ends up floating off into space.

Scuttle (The Little Mermaid)

Scuttle is the seagull friend of the mermaid, Ariel.

He claims to be an expert on humans and tells her what the human objects that she collects are, usually incorrectly.

Scuttle helps Ariel when she is on land trying to win her prince.

He is the one who discovers that Ursula is Vanessa and her evil plan, and then alerts Ariel and Sebastian to what is happening.

Sebastian (The Little Mermaid)

Sebastian is a crab who serves at the court of King Triton as an advisor.

He is soon given the unenviable task of watching over the king’s youngest daughter Ariel.

He tries to stop Ariel from seeing the sea witch Ursula but afterward tries to help her win the love of Prince Eric to restore her voice.

Shang (Mulan)

Shang is the son of a Chinese army general and is desperate to prove himself!

He gets his opportunity when he is put in charge of a misfit group of soldiers, which includes Mulan, disguised as a boy.

When he discovers Mulan’s true identity, he is upset. But as they are forced to fight alongside each other, they develop strong mutual respect.

Shank (Ralph Breaks the Internet)

Shank is a non-playable boss from the intense online racing game Slaughter Race.

While she rules her game with an iron fist, she welcomes both Ralph and Vanellope to be part of her domain.

Shanti (The Jungle Book)

Shanti is a small girl who lives in the man-village near Mowgli’s jungle.

She has a beautiful singing voice, and she is one of the first people that Mowgli encounters at the man-village.

He is so entranced by her that, despite his previous objections, he decides to stay in the man-village.

Shan-Yu (Mulan)

Shan-Yu is the leader of the Hun Army that is attacking China.

This is what leads many to be called into service, and Mulan to disguise herself as a boy to join the army.

Mulan’s identity is exposed after she is slashed in combat with Shan Yu.

He is presumed dead after this encounter, but Mulan is able to warn the Emperor that Shan Yu is alive and coming for him.

Shelby Forthright (WALL-E)

Shelby Forthright is the CEO of the megacorporation Buy n Large at the end of the 22nd century.

His company was largely responsible for poisoning the Earth with trash.

He then devised the plan to keep humanity on ships while robots cleaned up the Earth.

But when the Earth proved too toxic to clean up, humanity was forced to stay in space.

Sheldon (Finding Nemo)

Sheldon is a young seahorse who is in Nemo’s class at school with Mr Ray.

He was one of the students swimming close to the boat shortly before Nemo is taken by a scuba diver.

Shenzi (The Lion King)

Shenzi is the leader of the hyena clan that allies themselves with Scar to oust Mufasa so that they can live in the Pride Lands, from which they have been exiled.

But when Scar betrays the hyenas to Simba in order to save his own life, Shenzi leads her clan to kill the traitor.

Shere Khan (The Jungle Book)

Shere Khan is a Bengal tiger who is considered the most feared predator in the jungle.

He has a hatred for humans due to previous encounters with their guns.

So when Mowgli, the man-cub, is discovered living in the jungle, he vows to kill Mowgli, as he vows to kill all men that enter his jungle.

Sheriff (Cars)

Sheriff is the lawman of Radiator Springs. He doesn’t usually have much trouble until Lightning McQueen zooms into town.

He is among the cars who go to watch McQueen race.

Sheriff of Nottingham (Robin Hood)

The Sheriff of Nottingham is a bear and an ally of Prince John in taking over England from King Richard.

He is constantly trying to ensnare and capture Robin Hood.

Notably, he competes in the archery tournament alongside the stork, who he does not realize is Robin Hood in disguise.

Simba (The Lion King)

Simba is the lion cub of Mufasa and heir to the leadership of the Pride Lands.

His life is thrown into disarray when his uncle Scar has his father killed. Scar also tells his hyena allies to kill Simba, but they fail to do so and lie about it.

Simba feels lost after watching his father die and runs off. He soon makes friends with Timon and Pumbaa and grows up away from the Pride Lands.

Only when he is fully grown is he prepared to take on the responsibility of facing his uncle and restoring peace to the Pride Lands.

Si (Lady and the Tramp)

Si, along with sister Am, are the two Siamese cats of Aunt Sally.

They come to the Dear house with Aunt Sally when she looks after Jim Jnr.

The two enjoy making trouble around the house and blaming it on Lady, causing Lady to be imprisoned, muzzled, and eventually flee the home.

Sid (Toy Story)

Sid Phillips is Andy’s neighbor and an infamous toy terrorize.

He likes to break toys, give them to his dog to chew, disassemble them, and reassemble them in strange ways.

As the toys team up to teach Sid a lesson, he learns that toys are really alive, which scares him so much that he cries.

Sina (Moana)

Sina is the mother of Moana and the wife of Tui, the chief of the island.

While she respects Moana’s calling to the sea, she also wants to protect her daughter from the dangers that she has been taught that are beyond the reef.

Sisu (Raya and the Last Dragon)

Sisu is a divine water dragon who, with the rest of her family, protects the world of Kumandra.

But when a plague of Druun is released, she is the only dragon to survive.

She unites with Raya, the princess of the Heart Land, to vanquish the Druun and restore prosperity to their world.

Sitka (Brother Bear)

Sitka is one of the Inuk and was responsible for raising his two younger brothers Denahi and Kenai.

He sacrifices his life to protect his brothers from a bear attack. His brother Kenai swears revenge and kills the bear.

Saddened by the senseless killing of the bear, the spirit of Sitka turns Kenai into a bear to teach him a lesson.

Kenai must find Sitka to become human again.

Skinner (Ratatouille)

Chef Skinner was the sou chef at Gusteau’s, but following the untimely death of his boss, he takes over.

He then proceeds to use Gusteau’s good name to market a cheap range of frozen foods, concerned only with money and not the reputation of the restaurant.

Skippy (Robin Hood)

Skippy is a young rabbit and one of the citizens that are terrorized by the Sheriff of Nottingham. He idolizes Robin Hood.

Robin gives him a bow and arrow, and he accidentally shoots it into the courtyard where Maid Marian is.

While he is initially scared, she befriends him.

Sleepy (Snow White)

Sleepy is one of the seven dwarves that takes in Snow White while she is hiding from the evil queen.

He is always drowsy and keen to take a nap, so he doesn’t pay a lot of attention to all the things happening around him.

Slim (A Bug’s Life)

Slim is a stick insect and part of the insect circus troupe.

He is frustrated because he is normally cast as a prop.

Unlike most stick insects, Slim can’t fly, so Francis the ladybug usually has to carry him around.

Slinky (Toy Story)

Slinky is a dog toy with a slinky for a stomach that belongs to Andy.

He is one of the older toys and a close friend of Woody but initially sided with the other toys when Woody was accused of attacking Buzz.

Smee (Peter Pan)

Smee is the incompetent first mate of Captain Hook on his pirate ship in Neverland.

He acts a bit like a nanny towards Hook, trying to keep him happy.

But he dreams of returning to his own world and returning to his life as a serious pirate.

Smitty (Monsters, inc.)

Smitty, along with his friend Needleman, works as general maintenance for Monsters Inc. He is light green and has four arms.

They are big fans of Sulley and support him in the scare race.

They almost destroy Boo when putting garbage in the crushing machine.

Sneezy (Snow White)

Sneezy is one of the seven dwarves who take in Snow White when she is hiding from the queen. Like his compatriots, he is a miner.

He is called Sneezy because he is constantly sneezing, probably due to some bad hay fever.

Mr. Snoops (The Rescuers)

Mr Snoops is the business partner of Madame Medusa, also eager to get his hands on the valuable diamond. But he basically lets Medusa call the shots.

He helps to keep Penny captive and supervises her work retrieving the diamond.

Since Madam Medusa kept trying to cheat him of his fair share, in the end, he leaves her to fend for herself in the Bayou.

Snow White (Snow White)

Snow White is the titular character of Disney’s first animated feature-length film.

She is a young princess who grows up to be an incredible beauty with skin as white as snow and hair as black as ebony.

Her jealous stepmother attempts to have her killed because she wants to be the fairest in the land.

But Snow White manages to live and goes into hiding with seven dwarf miners that live nearby.

But when the queen realizes that Snow White is still alive, she is determined to finish what she started.

Sour Bill (Wreck-it Ralph)

Sour Bill is a sour candy ball that lives in the Sugar Rich game and is a henchman for King Candy.

He has a negative personality and is rarely happy about what he is asked to do.

Sox (Lightyear)

Sox is a robotic cat and Buzz’s personal companion. Alisha gave it to him to provide support as he moves through time.

He is also equipped with a number of tools such as a blowtorch and tranquilizers that might help Buzz along the way.

Spot (The Good Dinosaur)

Spot is a primitive human boy living in the time of dinosaurs. He is the first human even to have been seen by dinosaurs

An orphan, he has learned to live in the wild on his own and he’s not afraid of anything.

He becomes good friends with Arlo and helps the lost dinosaur find his way home.

Squirt (Finding Nemo)

Squirt is a young turtle and the son of Crush, who he idolizes.

The turtle plays with Dory as she and Marlin hitch a ride across the East Australian Current.

Squishy (Monsters University)

Scott Sebastian Squibbles is better known as Squishy on campus where he is a member of the Oozma Kappa fraternity.

He is a young monster who still lives with his mother and doesn’t know what he wants from life.

But his fraternity brothers may help him figure it out.

Stanley (Meet the Robinsons)

Stanley is one of the students that participate in the science fair. He has created a Mount Vesuvius volcano scene.

The teachers are unimpressed by his dangerous project and he is told to run 20 laps.

Stefan (Sleeping Beauty)

King Stefan is the father of Princess Aurora, who he quickly betrothed to his friend’s son Prince Philip.

When he celebrates her christening, he invites the three good fairies to attend but does not invite the wicked fairy, Maleficent.

She is angered by this and turns up anyway to curse the child.

The good fairies do their best to deflect the curse, and King Stefan allows them to take his daughter to live with them so that they can better protect her.

Sterling (Cars 3)

Sterling is a billionaire businesscar who purchases the Rust-eze company that sponsors Lightning McQueen.

He wants McQueen to retire so that he can end on a high and maintain his reputation for the brand.

He eventually makes a deal with him: win Florida 500 or retire.

Stinky Pete (Toy Story 2)

Stinky Pete is one of the toys in the Woody’s Roundup set.

Alongside Woody and Jesse, he is collected by Al to sell to a Japanese collector.

Unlike the others, he wants to go to Japan and be a famous toy.

He tries to stop the others when they try to escape and return to their children.

Stitch (Lilo and Stitch)

Stitch was created as an alien experiment and is known to many as Experiment 626.

He was created to bring chaos and destruction to everything he touches.

When he finds himself alone on Earth, young Lilo takes a liking to him and adopts him as a puppy.

The two become family. Stitch does everything he can to protect Lilo following the deaths of her parents, and she tries to help him evade being captured by intergalactic bounty hunters.

MrStork (Dumbo)

Mr Stork is one of the storks that deliver new babies.

But he doesn’t seem to be good at his job and he has a number of mishaps while trying to deliver Dumbo to his mother Jumbo.

Stretch (Toy Story 3)

Stretch is a glittery purple octopus toy that lives at the Sunnyside Daycare and is part of Lotso’s gang.

But when Woody confronts Lotso about his former owner Daisy, Stretch is visibly upset by Lotso’s response.

He goes on to become a protector rather than a bully at the daycare center.

Stromboli (Pinocchio)

Stromboli is a puppeteer showman who sees a great opportunity when he encounters the living puppet Pinocchio.

When he finds Pinocchio, he holds him prisoner and forces him to perform. He also tells him that he will burn him when he is no longer useful.

Stu (Zootopia)

Stu Hopps is a down-to-earth country rabbit. He is also the father of Judy Hopps (and other children).

He worries when his daughter goes off to the big city to pursue her dream of becoming a cop.

Sulley (Monsters, inc.)

James P. Sullivan, better known as Sulley, is a big, blue monster and the top scarer at Monsters inc.

When one of the children he tries to scare, Boo, accidentally follows him through the closet into the world of monsters, he learns that children are not the toxic animals he has been led to believe.

He becomes her guardian and must keep her safe while finding a way to return her to her own world, and uncovering a conspiracy in the company.

Sultan (Aladdin)

The Sultan is the benevolent ruler of the Sultanate of Agrabah and the loving father of Princess Jasmine.

He wants his daughter to marry to secure the future of the sultanate for his people but also wants her to be happy.

But he does not realize that his advisor Jafar is working against him to steal his power.

Suzy (Cinderella)

Suzy is one of the female mice that is a friend to the lonely Cinderella.

When her stepfamily keeps her too busy to complete her dress for the ball, Suzy is one of the mice that take charge to finish the dress.

While Cinderella’s stepsisters destroy the dress, Cinderella’s fairy godmother shows up to save the day.

Sven (Frozen)

Sven is a reindeer who is best friends with Kristoff and accompanies him on all his adventures.

While Sven can’t talk in a way that most people can understand, Kristoff seems to understand him and often communicates on his behalf.

Syndrome (The Incredibles)

Buddy Pine originally dreamed of being Mr Incredible’s sidekick.

He would often show up to “help” but end up causing disasters. Consequently, Mr Incredible rejected him.

Buddy grew to hate superheroes and became the supervillain Syndrome in order to eradicate them all.

He is willing to go to any lengths, even destroying baby superheroes.
